Something cool about Flume is that he has closed Gobi and Outdoor. If Flume were to play DoLab he'd most likely close a night. If he plays in 2020 he could possibly close Sahara (might be too big though). At that point he will have closed 4 stages on 4 appearances.

Lizzo dropping something with Missy tomorrow. Going she gets a late night Gobi set instead of the hot pain of opening the main
She fits late-afternoon-Main soooooooo well though. Wouldn't be mad for her, just think she deserves Main and will be exactly what I want to get going on the last day. I'll see her wherever lol.

I could see her in any number of spots. I'm hoping for that late afternoon, but late night wouldn't surprise me at all. Not perfect comparisons, but Janelle Monae 2013 and Sharon Jones 2008 both killed the late night tent performances.
That Flume set was amazing. Outdoor was less so but still fun.
Honestly call me crazy but I think Flume could sub if he stepped up his live show. He was #4 in 2016 and the rest of the Skin tour was insane (multiple Red Rocks headlining shows, ala Odesza).

Next step is Mainstage, just not sure if he will sub or be #3 on Main
I've never seen him live, some say he is a bit boring. Anyone else feel the same?
I hope Coachella gets more old Ariana songs (First 2 albums) but the couple on that setlist do surprise me. At least give me Honeymoon Avenue, Baby I, Be My Baby

If you like listening to Flume's music in a playlist, but played over big speakers, you will love Flume's live show.

Definitely sub. He was #4 in 2016 BEFORE Skin came out and that album only propelled his popularity.

Seen Flume 6 times and he’s fun, but has yet to bring anything significant to his life set. He started playing a drum pad live for certain moments, but that’s it.

So uhh Flume is very high on that Lolla lineup. I know 2019 hasn't happened yet, but hes dropping a 43 minute mixtape today and I'm assuming a full album at some point next year. He's locked in as a sub if booked. This sounds wild, but could he headline if his activity in the coming months takes off? Maybe become a budget headliner or something?

easily. if he releases another massive hit like Never Be Like You he'd be headliner caliber.

I'm rooting for him. This would probably be the only act I've had the chance to see at every level of their career as they rise. First saw him play very early afternoon at the tiny FYF electronic tent in 2013. Would be pretty cool to see him headline even though a lot of people probably wouldn't want it.

I'm inclined to think he wouldn't be able to headline, but if the album is both massively popular and well-reviewed, I could squint and see it. Don't think they would do it unless it were both of those things though.

Didn't see him til after Skin but listened to him religiously when his debut came out. Agreed that itd be super cool to see him reach that point. I'm hoping Brockhampton gets to that point too. Saw them in a 500 cap room and they played an 8000 cap arena a year later

A lot of things have to fall into place, but I think he's for sure a lock as a sub if he's booked. Anything can happen to push a sub to headliner status though and there's a lot of time for him to push himself up.

If were playing the "what is more likely" game, I'm going to call him as a 2020 sub. Making my prediction early.
I am a fan of his early work but pretty much can't stand his current live show....it's just so boring, has weak transitions, very few "live" portions. It really is him just playing his tracks over large speakers.
Now....if he changes that and makes a massive upgrade to the show, and his album is stupid huge, I can imagine a world where he's a budget Friday headliner or co-headliner. I don't think this is likely, but it's not impossible. The last electronic HL we had is just leagues above Flume in popularity and clout, which is how I imagine GV was comfortable with booking a DJ to headline. I think it would take a lot of ducks to line up for another electronic artist to headline.
