I can't even explain how glad I am that I went both weekends. But I guess I'll try.
Top 5 Weekend 2:
1. Childish Gambino - Being right on the center rail was actually incredible. I thought he was amazing Weekend 1, but he was actually perfect this time. I have to go to Outside Lands now so I can see him again.
2. Aphex Twin - I couldn't really get into it the first weekend, but on Saturday April 20th 2019, my brain was ripped out of my skull and trampled upon inside the Mojave tent, in the best way possible. This is the the main reason I'm so fucking glad I went to weekend 2 as well.
3. Gesaffelstein - Being on the front and center rail for this certainly didn't hurt, but this guy is a madman. It's so fucking awesome that he had those huge vantablack screen/curtain things on the sides of his lighting rig. This was another reason I had to go back again, and he was even better this time.
4. The Interrupters - Still made the top 5, these guys have so much energy live. I was really excited to hear that they pushed back the Outdoor set times (R.I.P. Christine's Mom), but it allowed me to also see FKJ (which was one of my biggest conflicts of the weekend vs Interrupters), but FKJ was kind of a snooze-fest, so I headed to the Outdoor early again. Was funny watching Jaden Smith and his crew of kids wearing hospital face masks jam out to them from the artist pit.
5. Calypso Rose - Missed her weekend 1, and some people in my crew told me that I missed out, and they were absolutely right. She is so damn adorable, and looks like she was just having a blast on that stage. It was one of the best day time dance parties I've ever been to at Coachella.
Honorable Mentions:
Cirez D - Maybe he played different stuff than last weekend, or maybe it's because I showed up an 50 minutes into his set, but his set seemed a lot better to than a lot of people made it out to be.
Perfume - Glad I got to see the last half of their set, because it was really fun. Their speech just before their last song was one of the cutest things I've ever heard in my life.
Polo & Pan - Love their set, love their music, but it was basically the exact same as weekend 1. Still great though.
Overall, weekend 2 is certainly a lot more "chill" than weekend 1, as it certainly feels like there are quite a few less people. The sound was generally a lot better for almost everything I saw as well. That said, still not so sure if I have to make the choice that I would do #2 over #1, if I'm being honest, mainly for the spoilers. Doing both allowed me to get much closer for certain things, and obviously see things I didn't get to before. I think I might be addicted to doing both weekends now......
So, no consideration given to not attending 2020? If I recall correctly you were considering no 2019 for a bit. Good to hear, really enjoyed the set times threads!

My favorite festival yet!
Top 5:
1. Charlotte Gainsbourg
2. Tame Impala
3. Gesaffelstien
4. Four Tet
5. Diplo
Honorary Mentions: Perfume and 29 Palms
I’d like to go further into discussion but I’ve gotta be at work for 10+ hours and my brain is leaking outta my ears. Awesome spending the weekend with katyperryofficial and bumping into shuck. Finally got to meet a few Reddit regulars that I’ve been following on insta for a while as well.
Favorite part of Coachella this year was that we had a bunch of first timers that included my gf. Nothin makes me happier than seeing people really get to have a great time with a group of 20+ as their first Coachella run.

Probably one of the best coacehlla's I have been to. This was my 8th and the quality of sets I saw was proably unmatchd from any year. This was also the most sets I have ever seen which in part is due to our group getting older and steering clear of extra curriculars as much and just so many must sees I had. THe new set up was amazing and made it easy to jump around, my only bummer was I wanted an Aphex shirt but never looked at the line and thought I'd rather wait in that line then see a show. WHich I have never had trouble getting merch before so that sucked. Best - Honestly everything I saw was unreal its hard to rank so Ill just list in no order - APhex Twin Hopkins Gesa Paak Polo and Pan Jambianai Gorgon Turnstile Perfume Bassnectar Edit: How could i forget four tet!
Worst - This was probably my own fault since I was super tried friday but I thought rufus was kind of a let down.
Again what a great year might be taking next year off, and if we are this was a great way to close it out for awhile.
PS - if you were at that jambianai show holy fuck was that special.

Finally a minute to give a little recap of the weekend. To echo what most people here are saying, this was one of the best Coachella’s I have been to. Definitely the best since 2012 (did not attend 2013-15). Best sets I saw this weekend in no order were Tame, Janelle, gambino, H.E.R., gesaffelstein, aphex, anderson Paak, parcels, and Sunday service. Tame impala was, without a doubt, the highlight for me and best thing I saw this weekend. There were only a couple of shows I didn’t enjoy but I was basically dragged to by my group (lookin at you YG and 88 glam) and some shows I was excited for but left me pretty flat (UMO and blood orange). I saw some weekend 1 people were a bit disappointed with Childish Gambino’s set, but I was completely mesmerized from start to finish. As someone unfamiliar with his work outside of “redbone” and “this is America”, I couldn’t have been more impressed. Nothing left me more uninspired than Ariana Grande. It legitimately just felt like another stop on her tour. Maybe if I knew the songs more or something, but after the headlining sets from the previous 2 nights, it didn’t compare. When she brought out beibs, it felt like we were at the kids choice awards or something.
The layout: again, to echo what a lot of people are saying, the Sonora tent was a total lifesaver. There were multiple times throughout the day when the heat was brutal. Having that AC conveniently in the middle of the festival, AND having a little bar inside where you can watch the sets was the perfect way to reenergize. The beer gardens were about the same as they usually are. I was able to get into the tiki bar speakeasy a couple of times which was great. The “hush hush” disco was not so hush hush. On Friday morning we went in early and the line was to the back of the central market, so I didn’t even bother. Sahara was a nightmare every time I attempted to go there (though the sets I went to were Kid Cudi, BLACKPINK, jaden, and YG so it makes sense). Every set in other tents were pretty easy to get close.
In summary: I switched to weekend 2 last year after always going the first weekend and I’ll never go back. Weekend 2 is so much more mellow, WAY less people, much cheaper, and a better overall experience IMO. The only downside is less grass and it is usually hotter but the heat was fine the last 2 days.
Surprised to hear so much lukewarm reception to Blood Orange and UMO. Both far exceeded my expectations
Good set from UMO in my opinion - but not near as fun as when they played a night time Mojave set in 2016. Totally different vibe, but a high quality set nonetheless.
Posted this in the wrong thread so I’ll post here:
Went both weekends, weekend 2 is definitely less crowded but getting from Khruangbin to Diplo W2 was the second most crowded experience I had either weekend, to the point where we just called it and turned back towards anything else. The first was the path to the gates hell aka the Yellow Path Saturday W1.
Also Polo and Pan was the most fun I had. The crowd both weekends was A+.
Ha yes that Saturday yellow path was brutal. Didn't take a full step for what felt like an hour!
Leaving or coming in? What time? We breezed in and out, but we arrived at 1:00 and left during Tame Impala.
I can't even explain how glad I am that I went both weekends. But I guess I'll try.

I mean, it depends on the lineup. But I guess if I can hate a Coachella lineup so much, and still go twice means I'm probably in no matter what lol

See y’all next year.
Do you know the song that 29 palms played that went 1 2 3 and then dropped?
PS - if you were at that jambianai show holy fuck was that special.
I was there. Wound up going to Jambinai both weekends as Weekend 2 I tried Wallows, but left 20 minutes in because his stage banter was super awkward and kind of annoying. But Jambinai killed it both times.
I of course had a great time too. I can’t tag anyone but I’m glad I at least got to run into gibsonguy, katyperryofficial, and lastnameicecream, but mostly thank you to beebee and wufinancial and their significant others for putting up with me yelling out “We stan a ___” every five minutes. and of course shout out to stlallison for being the best camping partner I could ask for.
So, so glad I got to spend I got to spend so much time with you, boo! Thanks for being my favorite sing-a-long partner and a should to lean my head on, literally and figuratively. And for making me take a step back and enjoy the views and to remember how lucky we were to be able to have this experience.

They just blew me away. I could feel the emotion they pour into their music, they were phenomenal. Also were one of you wearing a unicorn cubs hat? I saw that guy at every show I went to almost.
This was definitely in my top 5, maybe even top 3 (out of 13) Coachellas that I've been to, but another serious gripe with this year for me.....
The shuttles. My friends and I had to take an Uber to the festival on Saturday and Sunday to see CHON and Easy Life respectively, because they decided to not have the shuttles start running until noon. I showed up at 10:30 on Sunday, figuring they would have the shuttles still running, since they were starting them earlier for Sunday Service, to find out that they stopped running between 10 and 12. I just wanted to get in before 1:10 to see Easy Life, but the Palm Springs stop takes about an hour to get to the festival, and when I talked to the people at the shuttle stop, they said they might not even leave until 12:20ish if there isn't enough people. It's been years since I've taken the shuttle, and maybe this it how it's been for a bit now, but it fucking sucked paying almost $100 in Ubers to get there on two of the days.

Yeah that was amazing.
And nah. This is me (from the Reddit meetup on Saturday)
i'm sure i'll share more later, but i'm still on vacation for one more day. just wanted to chime in and say as a 30+ lady who has been waiting a long time to have the time and money to attend this festival, it was completely worth the wait and energy i put into it.
I'm so glad you had a great time! It's really a beautifully done event <3

Bummed I didn't meet anyone from inforoo, I didn't really have any downtime this year! If anyone saw a guy walking around the UMO crowd looking out of it and spraying the crowd with water out of a fertilizer pump, that was me lol.
Seventh Coachella - my first was the best (2013). This one was sneaky good, probably top 3. Like Mikey I was maybe a little disappointed at lineup drop but really warmed up to it and had a really great festival. Crowds were really good and into it. Most acts had good crowds even in Sonora (exceptions were US Girls and sorta Iceage). Billie Eilish was biggest crowd I was in, but actually thought it manageable.
Favorite sets: Fri: Khruangbin (so happy the crowd was big and loud) Gambino (best headliner set imo) .Paak Let’s Eat Grandma Charlotte Gainsbourg
Sat: Jambinai (tears to eyes good) Billie Eilish Superorganism Tame impala (I liked the Rocky songs) Weezer
Sun: Lizzo Perfume Pusha T UMO Chvrches (they are really a force now with addition of a drummer)
I thought the sound was crisp everywhere and having done weekend two for 3 of the last 4 years, I think think I’m now weekend 2 for life.

Finally have had enough time to sleep and process what happened over the weekend. Top 5 favorite sets from the weekend, no particular order:
-Aphex Twin: I wouldn't call myself a huge Aphex Twin fan, so I wasn't sure I would enjoy this. One of the most unique performances I will ever experience and I'm very glad my crew convinced me to go. I felt like I had been assaulted, but in a good way, after leaving that set. -Tame Impala: Visuals were spectacular, set list was more than I could have asked for. I actually really enjoyed the songs with ASAP Rocky. Crowd around me was so much fun and everyone was very into the moment. My only complaint is that I felt like the sound was very quiet for the first few songs, but I think it improved later in the set. Although, my perception may have been skewed from Aphex Twin's set I had just come from. -Lizzo: Definitely the best dance party of the weekend. We all know what a queen she is, so of course she killed it a cappella at the end of the set when her sound cut out. Was that planned? I really hope not. She made it seem like it was off the cuff. -Four Tet (both sets): I didn't know I could enjoy dance music so much with no lights and no visuals. It felt like being at the coolest underground European club. His Do Lab set was probably my second favorite dance party of the weekend. -Janelle Monae: This woman can really bring it. One of the sets I went to totally by myself and still had a blast.
This was my second Coachella and easily the best of the two, if not the best festival experience I've ever had. I went W1 in 2017, which was plagued with sound issues (to this date it's the only Radiohead set I've ever seen, mega disappointment), and I must say I will definitely be going to W2 from now on. Time to fix sound issues plus less/better crowds.
And I'm so glad I got to see beebee again and meet wufinancial and your significant others. Let me know if y'all ever find yourselves in St. Louis!
Other takes:
-So many bongos. Bongos must be in right now. I saw bongos at so many sets. Kevin Parker must have predicted this. -So much ass. Asses must be in right now. Not just from Lizzo's set, but from about every third woman in the crowd. -The new Sonora set up might make it my favorite tent in the fest. I spent a lot of early afternoons in that back bar. -That Hush Hush disco bar was AWESOME. The mezcal drink was perfection. -I really love the new Yuma as well. Why even try to go fight the Sahara when you can just go to Yuma? -Coachella Coin got me a free pack of enamel pins, but I mostly got all my coins prior to even showing up to the fest. I don't even remember seeing QR codes to scan at any of the places you were supposed to be able to find them. -The main merch tent was garbage. I'm lucky I stumbled upon that smaller merch tent by Antartic and it had what I wanted and didn't have to give up 2+ hours. -I was able to see many more sets this year than in 2017 thanks to the better layout. -Is everyone ignoring that horrifically awkward speech Justin Bieber gave afterward he terribly lip synced Sorry at Ari's set? I felt so uncomfortable.
I am exhausted and super busy at work (7:00am-10:00pm today) but I just want to squeeze this in here real quick and (maybe?) expand on this later - W2 2019 was my favorite Coachella in a long time, and may be my favorite ever of the nine I've been to. They just hit it out of the park with everything...perfect crowd, unbelievably good sets, perfect logistics. What a home run of a weekend.
Surprised to hear so much lukewarm reception to Blood Orange and UMO. Both far exceeded my expectations
I put UMO in my top 10 sets of the weekend and gave Blood Orange an honorable mention, only because I left his set early to get a good spot for YG (worth it tbh, YG was great weekend 1 but a lot of that had to do with the section I was in, we all went hard lol). UMO didn't have a huge crowd but those of us there were having one heck of a dance party (shout outs to the guy in the bee suit during Honeybee). And Blood Orange was just top quality sound, wish I could have saw the whole set but at least I saw Dapengham Dream before I left.
Finally have had enough time to sleep and process what happened over the weekend. Top 5 favorite sets from the weekend, no particular order:

I went WK2 and this Coachella reminded me the most of the year of Blur/Stone Roses / Phoenix / Muse. Meaning - it wasn't about the headliners. Even with Ariana, you could just walk right up to the front - it wasn't very crowded.
Tame Impala's light show was amazing and a lot of fun. Ariana played all the hits. Childish gave it his all.
But none of them had the air of exclusivity that we've come to expect from Coachella. Outkast's first show back. LCD - same thing. Gaga. Guns N' Roses. Beyonce. Etc.
With that, Coachella proved just how strong of a festival it is on its own. It still remains one of the best music festivals in the world. A lot of that has to do with the programming between stages and the sheer size.
WK2 was very chill. It was nowhere near capacity and I know WK2 averages about 25K less than weekend one. But even with that - it didn't sell out.
Will be very interesting to see what they do next year in the way of booking. I don't think Ariana delivered for them what they needed. I know it was a last minute booking when Kanye dropped out but even so -exclusivity reigns supreme. You can see Ariana on tour this summer. What you can't see is Kanye's Sunday Service. That was an amazing experience.
Top Acts Four Tet - his set is not exactly like what you hear on his mixes or Spotify - way more dancing Tame Impala - just beautifully done. Weezer - they played nothing but the hits and covers and the crowd loved it Gesaffelstein - A great DJ set Kacey Musgraves - a different type of Coachella Artist the 1975 - probably the best "new" rock act out there; he delivers live Billie Eilish - a star in the making
