Anyone else excited for this show? First time playing Bonnaroo if I’m not mistaken. I’ve only seen him once opening for flying lotus but it was a great show. I’m very excited to see him on the farm. Fingers crossed for a spot at the superjam too!
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

He was in the Skrillex Superjam in 2014, but I think you're right that this will be his first solo show. If I end up going, it will definitely be in my top-ten most anticipated.
Bonnaroo '15/'16/'17/'18/'19 - ACL '13/'14/'15/'17/'18 - Fun Fun Fun '14 - SXSW '13/'14/'15 - FPSF '16
2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers
Seen him at sxsw one year with Captain Murphy, FlyLo, b.o.b. (Who i didnt want to mention in this, his set was one of the worst ive ever seen.), asap mob and badbadnotgood, and at sound on sound. The SoS set was way better since it was after To Pimp a Butterfly and he was previewing a few songs off his next album (Drunk). One of my most anticipated for Bonnaroo, hes perfect for the festival.

I honestly expect this to be a very underattended set. Sad but true. Scheduling will be the key.
I actually think Thundercat gets a lot of hype. Unless he's closing a tent against Future, Alt-J etc. I think he'll be fine. But even then I think there will be a decent crowd.

The bigger thing to worry about is the quality of his crowd. In my experience his shows are incredibly dependent on a good crowd.

A sunset tent slot would be prime
I'm kinda guessing he'll either close out a tent or play before Jungle in a tent. But I think most likely he'll at least be playing when the sun is going down. I saw him play a small sold out show in Atlanta a year ago. The crowd was very into it and energetic. It was also cool to see so many "hip hop heads" come out to see a psychedelic jazz/funk show.

Yeah I was at his NY show right around when Drunk came out and it was one of the best shows I saw last year. Packed house and everyone hyped (plus Robert Glasper came out and jammed and Chappelle, Hannibal, and FlyLo all showed up). But when I caught him again in the fall at a bigger venue there was a major disconnect between him and the crowd for most of the show.
Won't be at Roo but that set has potential to be really really good. Hoping for the best for y'all. I'll have to settle for seeing him at Boston Calling, and I don't have high hopes for that audience.
