Thanks for the info! I'm gonna book the nugget today and cancel the other one. Im gonna do something like 5 nights and then option for a a few extra days last minute elsewhere.
What is the cost of VUP and perks? Worth it.
I wanna say it was about $700. It gets you shades rest areas ac bathrooms and close to the main stages. It’s worth it to me just for being closer to the stage even if i was late getting to a set. But i think that will depend more on personal note for y’all. Also this fest i think takes in about 120k peeps i believe i read last year.
Well probably stay with GA. Just booked the Golden Nugget which is moving up quickly. (even on dif computer, browser and deleted history n such). Wed-Monday. Might book a few other days elsewhere.

We’ll be flying Thursday morning starting at either golden nugget or plaza from Thursday-Monday morning then Monday and Tuesday most likely stay on the strip at Excalibur and fly out Wednesday. And yeah GA will probably be cool for y’all i just know everyone is different so never wanna say yeah only do vip lol
And no it actually doesn’t that’s why if getting close isn’t a major for you at the main stages vip probably isn’t worth it for y’all but that’s my main for doing it. Plus i like those a/c bathrooms at the fest haha

I wonder if itll be cheaper to just pay really hard to push people $5 for the headliners.

yea only way id ever do VIP is if food and booze are included. i dont need to be on the rail and i have never had much trouble at any fest to get a good enough spot.

when should we expect the lineup or some hints?
This was the first fest we’ve ever done vip for the same reasons you’ve stated but we did get nervous when we saw the crowd attendance and how it almost tripled what we were use to. Wasn’t worried about a rail spot but i do always a enjoy a good spot where i can see them on stage without a screen and being able to have room to breathe.
Lineup last year came out last week of April i believe. And the only hint i remember was Gorillaz cuz they announced their tour a month before with the fest listed.
If you want to stay downtown, The Grand is the newest/nicest hotel/casino downtown with a great pool area. One block off Freemont and easy walking distance to the fest.
Golden Nugget would probably be the #2 choice.
Also, if you get a chance, go to the bar downtown Gold Spike, probably the coolest bar in all of Vegas, especially the backyard area. I rolled in there last month and there was literally a roller skating party going on with disco DJs. Plus they have life size drinking games such as beer pong and cornhole.

how is the crowd at the fest, like the vibe and avg age? I know there are food demos inside the gates but is anything else going on other then the music worth checking out? Lastly, what are the food and drink prices like?
Crowd for the most part is super respectful. There wasn't much EDM in the linups until year 3 in 2015 and since then, there's been more of the younger EDM dance crowd and unfortunately there's been an uptick in pick-pocketers at the Troubadour/Fremont Stage (EDM) stage in the past 2 years. That's not my thing and I haven't experienced any bad apples yet in my 5 years going to this festival.
One of my favorite things about this festival is that they have 4 pillars which they book relatively equally: Music, Learning/Ideas, Art, and Food. There's an Art Motel as well as an old empty building filled with art (and AC blasting), there's comedians that they started booking 2 years ago, and a learning/speaker series which is also quite popular. Over the years, I've been able to take in learning series sessions by Bill Nye, a cooking demo and meet-up with Iron Chef Cat Cora, and art by Banksy among other things. If nothing else perks your interest, you can always exit and hit up one of the many bars or restaurants within a 5-10min walk of the festival grounds and grab a few beers before heading back once the sun sets.

I feel like The Killers are a lock for this. They are doing a festival in Vancouver a few weeks before so I assume they're probably going around North America again in fall. I say The Killers, The Weeknd and Florence headline this.

FYI, Imagine Dragons is a Vegas-based band playing KAABOO & Music Midtown this year.....

Yep The Killers or ID seem like a lock one or the other. Really expecting it to also be Florence and Arctic Monkeys and then either The Weeknd or Gambino I’d rather Gambino. Also couldn’t possibly see Eminem jumping back on the fest train here

I honestly always forget imagine dragons are from Vegas. Good point. Do we really think it would have to be one or the other or could both play? Are imagine dragons that much bigger than the killers ?
I have a feeling that it's only going to be one of The Killers, Florence, or Arctic Monkeys. I'm personally hoping for Florence + the Machine since I've never seen them perform and they're at Grandoozy in Denver the weekend before. Arctic Monkeys was there in 2014 so they're a definite possibility as the #3 headliner. Killers seem like a lock though I'm hoping they use the rock headliner spot on someone else..plus, Brandon brought out the rest of the band for the last half of his own set in 2015 so this would kinda be like their 3rd appearance in 6 years. I really don't know which direction they're going to go but I wouldn't mind as long as they do not book The Weeknd, The Killers, or Imagine Dragons.
I'd love Childish Gambino as a 4-6 act but he has shows in Houston and Dallas that Saturday and Sunday.

Arcade Fire is in Europe til mid August and i dont think they ever played this so looks reasonable, Eminem doesnt look likely feels like hell be in Europe, Jack White has 3 Vegas dates this summer so hes out too. Janet doesnt seem like she fits this to me.
