I don't have a meaningful contribution that hasn't been said by others here. Despite not attending Bonnaroo for a few years, I still lurk most days because there's interesting music conversation. uh...going back to lurking now. Keep up the good work everybody.
Since we seem to have evolved a bit into a general "how to fix inforoo" discussion, I'll add my piece:
This place definitely has a reputation as being hostile. When I've talked to attendees at Bonnaroo and mention the board the response tends to be something like the equivalent of a full body eye roll. Feedback usually tends to include a general takeaway that it's all inside jokes and condescension (especially towards new people). This isn't new but it definitely could be improved.
Telling people that they have bad taste in music or that acts they like suck is arrogant and unnecessarily antagonistic. Stop it.
I don't really have any beefs that I am aware of on here, though that might be due to the frequency of the name and avatar changes. It makes it harder to realise that it's one person who is adding nothing to the experience.
(FWIW, I do have one person blocked on here so I guess "no beefs" might be a bit misleading. They just have no impact on me anymore. Try it!)
Hey Launchpad, I don't like AEG/Goldenvoice (or Live Nation) either. If you get time later, I'm curious to know why you hate them with a passion because it seems personal. Feel free to give me the cliff notes in PM so it doesn't fuck up this thread or start new arguments. I don't have a problem with you or anyone else on this forum (especially in person) even though I end up getting in musical disagreements and fights with a lot of different posters over certain topics only to probably drop a "like" on something else they posted 10 minutes later.
I don't really care about the thread titles. I think they are funny sometimes when not trying to include insider fighting. I liked The Weaknd headline for Hangout 2016 and thought it was pretty funny. But it pissed off a lot of the long timers who both liked The Weeknd and popular music in general. Different strokes, but that thread was always a world unto itself.
I joined after being off the web for 6-7 years to post some of Voodoo's lineup in 2014 when I got the scoop from an inadvertent radio announcement. I usually do get a few things for local festivals or am able to deduce based on obvious factors and will try to provide. But I don't claim to be the shit nor do I think I am. Everyone I have ever met off this forum was pretty much cool as shit, and I've enjoyed and still do enjoy those interactions. Even people I seem to get into fights or arguments with from time to time like Delicious Meatballs Sub, Hambone, Superfurry, etc. have all contributed to me finding new music to see and listen to. And hopefully everyone else feels the same way about disputes - leave them where they are and not let them spill over to the rest of the board or real life.
I don't have an opinion on a solution to the thread problem. I don't think it usually is a problem, because the first one up seemed to usually stand as the "official" thread. I guess if people are actively jockeying for ownership of a thread, they should be able to work that out where hopefully one of them isn't taking it over to shit on the festival and all it stands for (unless emoney gets Hangout in which case I'll just keep laughing). I think people looking inward and toward "being the better (wo)man" would go miles toward solving a problem that barely exists.
Edit to say - Mods should be able to figure out when a subsequent year's festival's thread is allowed. It's weird though because Day for Night in 2016 was selling early birds for the following year the Friday the festival started. Maybe, as others have suggested, once a lineup is released?
Why is there a hangout 2019 thread already? This is BULLSHIT.

Inforoo does have somewhat of a reputation for people being arrogant, know-it-alls, musical snobs and occasionally douchebags. I think those reputations have been earned on some levels, but music is a passion and one that I think a lot of people here obviously take seriously seeing there are many of us here that spend up and over $5k a year on seeing live music. So it's not like the "gusto" isn't warranted sometimes.

I don’t think there’s anyone on this board I actively dislike because of their posting habits. But there is one piece of shit on here who I once saw wrestle a girl for a set list at a show. A grown man whose gonna get the nut kick I’ve been saving for Dave Maynar the last two years.

and that's why i like going into other discussion threads here (garbage reality tv, game of thrones, nfl, etc.) i know that all these people are here because they love music when it comes down to it. people tell me i'm to obsessed with music festivals. here i'm just normal

FYI, you're currently up 26 games to 25. I'm evening it up.

That's probably best for you. Also, dude probably deserves it. Especially if it's sang_xcx.

I like everyone here. I've used the block 1 time because the person was posting just outlandish shit. Other than that, everyone is pretty right on. I get a good kick out of the shenanigans around here. Oh, I even learn about sweet new bands.
edit: also, very simply, no new threads until the current years festival is over. OP be a regular attendee, and have insight to the festival, area, etc.

I did arm wrestle a girl for ?uestlove's stick once, but I definitely had it and she tried to take it. But this wasn't me.
It’s in the thread title. Which changes regularly.
Give us your opinion. What’s wrong with this place and how do we fix it?
didn't even notice the new one. that's called winning on inforoo. when your joke gets on a thread title and nobody outside of here will understand that
edit: and that is 4001 posts for me, that's losing in real life

Nothing wrong with tugging a bit especially for what’s already yours. This guy was straight up on the floor with this girl, wrestling her with way too much force. He lost thankfully. That same set list hit the top of my finger and I turned around to see if I could get it but then I saw him acting like a fucking child.

well now we have to know who it was
for real, it's a real life equivalent of "i know the headliners and you don't"

Burning question: Who won?
Oh, I did. Normally I would let a girl have it, but that was one I really wanted. I don't get many things from shows, I have that stick and a stick from Mutemath and a few setlists.
No but the band does have cult fans and I’m one of them. If I was up against a guy and we got it at the same time I would’ve put up a bit of a fight for it but the girl clearly had it first.
