Also, again, Juggs made a Hangout thread and spent a solid year mocking them, emoney has a Lollapalooza thread going right now that has had a shit title because he wanted to harass that beachbob guy; but yeah lets just hold me to different standards than everyone else.
i wish you took the time to recognize that the new guidelines going forward directly address the two issues you brought up here:
-Threads should be run by someone that actually cares about the festival. And named appropriately. (looking at you Lolla thread) So that new members and guests don't have to play guess that thread.

I saw that. I have no issue with any of that. I was responding to Phi.

I think AEG (owned by an anti-gay billionaire) and devouring both festivals and venues at a similar rate, are just as evil.
But if you love music, you are giving your money to one or both of those entities. Not sure why criticism of one is valid around here, and criticism of the other is blasphemous.

Just wanted to point out that there would be a Lollapalooza thread with a reasonable title owned by someone who has been to most of the modern iterations of the festival and knows Chicago well but Launchpad repeatedly asked Druid to lock it in favor of Emoney’s

The second emoney made his thread (which again, is titled the way it is because he wanted to harass another user), I attempted to make a Lolla thread free of any mean spirited titles made in poor taste. It was locked because emoney was first. Then you made yours and I got it locked because as I have said a ton in this thread, I am sick of a double standard existing around here. If mine was locked then yours needed to be locked.

Two sets of rules exist around here. People are treated differently for the same actions."Integrity in thread ownership," has been an issue around here for years. But it only became something that just had to be addressed, after I gave it right back to you. You guys can dish it out but you cant take it.
-So I'm hearing threads should not be created for the next years festival until that years festival is over. Except for Bonnaroo and Coachella. Anyone else? -Threads should be run by someone that actually cares about the festival. And named appropriately. (looking at you Lolla thread) So that new members and guests don't have to play guess that thread. -Hotly contested threads for certain festivals (Pano, Gov Ball, Coachella, etc.) should be equally shared. If more than one person wants it, we need a system to determine who gets it, besides who gets there first. Yes, that is how it's been done, but it's no longer working. -Threads should be updated with the current information and kept free of rambling clutter. (lists, hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream)
Where do we put the clutter? New thread? Random thoughts?
At this point, I feel like we could sustain an entire category just to put different threads for rankings. Aside from that, as the unofficial (totally official) mayor of the Random Thoughts thread, we welcome all posts about all subjects. Random Thoughts makes no judgements based poster of origin, subject, brevity (or lack thereof). Want to rank frittatas? Random Thoughts is there for you. Want to discuss how that squirrel outside your apartment is mean mugging you? Random Thoughts is there for you. The best part? nodepression is too busy taking awesome photos and randomly DJ'ing, so the thread title will likely never change again. Random Thoughts can supply that consistency that other threads just can't. Remember Random Thoughts loves you even if you don't always love Random Thoughts. Have a great day.
Less lists in the Headliner thread would be all kinds of swell.
The headliner thread is definitely the thread where we most toe that line between having fun and just being stupid. I embrace the ridiculous nature of it, but there's a limit to how much we should get off topic with the last couple years trending more toward being over the limit.

Emoney has been suspended from inforoo in the past for being a dipshit. Also, everyone agrees that emoney is a dipshit as well when it comes to trolling festival threads. There aren’t two sets of rules. You’re just the only one acting like a whiny punk about all this.

How long can one human being sustain a whine? Let's find out!
Now if I had followed Delicious Meatball Sub's post with some shit like this and being dismissive of what he was saying in the most asshole way possible: why do I get the feeling I would have been called out for it?

Yeah I just can’t imagine 20 pages of Always Sunny seasons ranked would cause that lurker to finally start posting. There are plenty of other threads (as you’ve noted) that could occupy one’s time instead. The idea though that we should shit post just because we need hundreds of pages in that thread is silly. Unless someone here just feels like they will become nostalgic for threads with high page counts, I have never understood the purpose of tracking those things.

Agreed. I feel those higher page counts were reached more organically. Either way, regardless of my interest level, it was probably a bad sign when I realized 15-20 pages in the headliner thread had been posted since I looked at it, and I skipped it without being at all concerned something important had been posted.

Because he’s not bitching about the world being unfair towards him and claiming to be a victim. He’s just trying to improve the board.
The Headliner Thread is uniquely equipped to deal with tangents because it is the only thread to annually spawn a recap thread. (And Vieux is already excited to run it for 2019.)
