Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The Mods don’t run the Bonnaroo thread. We do go to a lot of festivals and concerts. And that is what this board is all about. So I think we qualify to run it. And who the fuck is Dua Lipa?
Please stop picking on me. It is always the same 5-6 mods that gang up on me for no reason. If you don't like my ideas, block me like everyone else. I will keep making as many dumb jokes as I want if everyone else gets to. This is all Hillary's fault anyway.
This post would be better with comic sans font but whatever.

Pepe Silvia's two cents
I wasn't really around during the days of Infinity Pass and Insider, so for the majority of my time here LP has been the only constant poster w scoopz. I gotta say, he does tend to get crucified for minimal offenses. He's obviously got some beef w other regulars on here, and it just always seems to go like: LP makes some type of stark opinion, possibly scoop related>3 people chomp his head off> Launchpad hits back> thread descends into madness.
The people saying "ban launchpad it will solve everything" really dumbfound me. you don't like him dick teasing scoopz? w h o f u c k i n g c a r e s. this whole thing is really reminding me of this infamous tweet from tyler.
and we're not even accusing him of "cyberbullying". some people just think he's annoying.
For Thread titles i really don't think any official rule changes need to be made. Especially after this fiasco. I don't think anyone wants to have this conversation again.

This lines up perfectly with *creates unnecessary thread for a festival run by a company he's known to hate just for the sake of argument > quotes member in the op who hasn't responded to any of his posts in months just for the sake of argument > cries when people point out that he's being annoying > argues more
I do think it's cool though how he habitually dogs Goldenvoice festivals despite being unfamiliar with 70% of the lineup. It's probably not personal at that point.

I lurked here for a year, then posted for a year, and have since gone back to lurking. Wanted to stop in to share my two cents. I’ve never found the trolling or infighting to be an issue in that it goes to far and I didn’t stop posting because of any individuals specifically. I also agree that this site is pretty tame by internet standards. With that said...
I’ve enjoyed my conversations with a few people on here when it comes to actually talking about music, but most of the time the threads that involve actually talking about music festivals rarely involved serious conversations about those festivals. The headliner thread was a shitshow this year, and so are the threads for most of the other festivals I have any interest in. People can make their bad jokes on here and I have no problem with that (hell I did it), but that only entertains for so long. To be frank, I find the launchy vs. the taste of the day poster argument much more interesting than the bad jokes that occupy a lot of this space.
This site host a small group of it’s most frequent poster that have been here for long enough to have the leeway to take turns either shitting on Roo indisicriminately or being unconstructive in their own way. Nothing wrong with that. It’s their choice, but I think it brings down the experience.
I really have no suggestions for improving on that. I think it’s naturally going to happen as so many of the people that are foundational to the site age out and stop going to Roo because the lineup no longer caters to them. I also think it’s fair that people that have contributed the most to the site shape it’s directions going forward.
I’ll just choose to visit every now and then in case anything I’m interested in gets posted.
With that said 95% of the people here are super cool and nice. Hope you all enjoy your festival season.
If people are posting in a thread literally every single day there's obviously not going to be any real information being shared most of the time so I don't see the problem with jokes.
Literally every time a new person comes around here and asks a question about a specific festival tons of people with a lot of knowledge jump in to try to help them out. I know I've personally received really great info about festivals I was planning on attending plenty of times from friendly inforoo people. I just find the idea that everyone around here is angry and snobbish and hates new people to be really false. I mean I'm probably one of the people on here that best fits that description and I'm just fucking around 99% of the time.
I love Bonnaroo and think it’s a great festival but I find the dragging of it funny and a complete non issue. It’s not like someone is like “I like Bonnaroo and I can’t wait” and then someone else is “HEY FUCK YOU YOU SUCK GONTO COSCHELLA DJSJFKS”. The people that seem to be at issue are making fun of reddit tier people and that’s something we can all get behind.
And that's the difference. You find it funny, I think it gets old after a while. Which is fine. You do see the condescension in saying "reddit tier people", though, right? Maybe people agree with that and again, that's fine, but for me personally, it's an unpleasant attitude to be around all the time, and I don't get behind it.
Reddit tier people was a joke but there are gonna be things on the internet that you don’t like and all this is is nitpicky micromanaging that will only create more issues
Everything was fine back when we didn't spend our time in threads for festivals we never attend. Considering these problems only come up in threads where we intersect, probably best to stay out unless you have something constructive to say. Obviously the headliner thread will always be somewhat of a shit show, but I'd imagine we are all capable of self-discipline here (especially when it comes to specific festival threads).

that's what i don't get. and that's not at one person or anything like that. i get that some people like to talk about all festivals but you'll never find me in most of the festival specific threads because i know i'm not going to them and know nothing about them. i'll check out the poster and maybe comment in the headliner thread since that is generally the place of everything towards the end of each year (oct-jan)

The fact that the Panorama thread hit, arguably even exceeded headliner thread-levels of off-topic nonsense is frustrating. That's the kind of stuff we need to avoid.

It turns out that a determined individual with lots of free time can ruin a thread without being able to change the title

This lines up perfectly with *creates unnecessary thread for a festival run by a company he's known to hate just for the sake of argument > quotes member in the op who hasn't responded to any of his posts in months just for the sake of argument > cries when people point out that he's being annoying > argues more

now we're just treading towards ignorance. the man goes to goldenvoice festivals. he obviously has some connection to Founders and shows more love to those fests but you're acting like he creates the panorama thread and shits all over it with no input. come on man go back and read the thread, you're really stretching here.

He doesn't go to Coachella, yet he routinely chimes in on how bad it is. He might have gone to Pano, but saying that the scoops are so bad that no one should attend before we even get a lineup (all in effort to detour board members) is the lame kind of shit I'm talking about. Seriously though, go back and read his posts in that thread before he deletes them. A lot of his contributions there were simply meant to stir the pot.

I hate Goldenvoice/AEG so much that I regularly attend shows at T5 and BK Steel, have been to Firefly every year except last, I attended Panorama two years in a row, already said I'll be there on Sunday this year, offer tips on where to stay, and give out lineup clues/hints. My hatred burns through the cavernous deeps.
I don't think this place is angry and snobbish as a whole, and new posters are often welcomed kindly. But I honestly see just as much immediate criticism to a new poster as I do kindness. Because a lot of people here seem to forget that some people don't know anything about how festivals are run, or that outside people are actually still excited about Roo, and those people are coming here to find out more or just be a part of lineup season. So when they make their first posts, if they ask a question that people here think is really obvious or they come in with an enthusiastic post about Bonnaroo, a lot of the replies are stuff like "Bad first post" or "lmao" and shit like that. So instead of learning anything, those people are likely to just feel bad and never come back. It really bothers me and I see it happen way too often.
Secondly: I can see the Launchpad debate from both sides, but I'll give my overall view - though to preface this, I haven't been around as long as some so I may not know everything that's happened. I do agree the scoop stuff gets tiring after a while, and the Panorama thread he started (that included a quote from jonesjupiter) was obviously partially started to start a negative interaction. But I also think that a lot of times the stuff against LP turns into a gang mentality/bullying situation for things that really aren't a big deal and would maybe go unaddressed if it was any other user. Just like a kid that gets bullied at school, LP may do things differently from other posters, but that alone is not a reason to gang up every time. And a lot of that stuff may go unaddressed but then as soon as one person replies ragging on him (knowing it'll get a hostile response back), several other posters decide they have to join in on the ragging too.
I also agree that the reddit stuff can go too far. Pasting extremely ignorant reddit posts is funny, but I don't really like when the Bonnaroo subreddit is talked about like they're collectively idiots just because they're really enthusiastic. It becomes an elitist thing which is pretty lame and not welcoming at all.
Alright I guess I’ll give my two cents. Obviously I haven’t been around as long as a lot of people here (I think I’m around 2 years) but I stayed because I legitimately like a lot of the people here - and Mafia of course. Going to inforoo meet ups is always one of my favorite parts of a festival.
The issue I see here isn’t so much a “who controls what thread” but more of the issue surrounding LP. It’s frustrating from my point of view because it’s obvious that we all have similar interests. If jonesjupiter and LP met in real life without knowing inforoo I’m sure they’d actually get along really well due to the fact they both love festivals. I don’t hate LP and I’ve had some decent conversations with him in some threads but he’s consistently starting shit because of his bias toward certain festivals. I try and stay out of it because I don’t really give a shit about AEG vs livenation.
On the other hand some posters here purposely try and provoke LP (often very successfully) just because they don’t like him. It’s very immature and creates clutter in threads that are suppose to be informative. If you don’t like LP that’s fine, I can see why, but provoking him is just going down to his level. For the people who still hate LP and don’t provoke him (most of you guys), good on you keep it up.
My suggestion: just act like fucking adults. It’s crazy that I’m one of the younger ones here and I’m constantly cringing on how childish some posters are on both sides of these arguments. You don’t like each other? You have different opinions? Fine. That’s life but there’s no need to act like baby’s and insult each other. Take it to PMs if you really still want to fight. I hate seeing people fight here because I legitimately love this website and I’ve made some good friends.
I know I’m not the most popular poster and my opinion won’t mean much but there it is.

Hey by the way, those assholes at AEG just announced some lineup additions for a fest that I am considering attending. Can somebody make a thread for it? I would but I worry itll spark another constitutional convention.
As someone who is completely fair and unbiased, I volunteer to start all threads on Inforoo from here on out. If anyone is interested in starting a thread about anything on this forum, they may PM me their idea and I will decide whether a new thread is needed. I will then create the thread. This seems to me to be the most sensible way to end these issues.
Thank you for your time, Hambone
my original suggestion is looking pretty good right about now

Weren't you the rodent who changed his username to "Lunchpail" for like 3 months?
Weren't you the rodent who changed his username to "Lunchpail" for like 3 months?
yeah, that was pretty funny
I thought it was funnier when you changed your usename to Ken Bone for like 10 months. I was hoping you would have honored the Cash Me Ousside Girl by now.

if you want to equate yourself to Bhad Bhabie and Ken Bone, that's on you.

I just equate you with bad jokes. But don't worry I equate a lot of people, myself included with that.
