Has this happened recently or is it scheduled to happen? If so, I didn't realize and it's fine. But if we're talking Dave Chappelle's Block Party, obviously it would be out.
also the white dude playing guitar behind Dave at 1:23 is one of my professors now.
Contesting this, it’s a one off for The Roots own festival, with no plans for touring.
An artist is considered "active" if they have had or will have public performances between 1/1/15 and 12/31/19. (This eliminates things like Rock and Roll Hall of fame performances, one-offs for benefits, awards show reunions, etc.) An artist would be considered inactive if they don't meet the live performance requirements or if there is credible documentation that an act has broken up, has no plans of touring, are focusing on other projects, does not play in this country, etc.
They have an announced show within the set tour dates. There is no credible documentation that they have no plans of touring, Dave has only been getting more and more active lately. And they're playing a fest, not a benefit show or something like that that would actually suggest that this isn't gonna happen again. It's completely within the rules.

So can I draft a superjam from other festivals? If you draft them individually that’s one thing.

Eh, still seems like a one-off to me. I think we need a poll.

Usher + The Roots were first announced for Roots Picnic 2016, and headlined Okeechobee and Jazzfest 2017.
In re: the roots and Dave - where are they billed as performing together? From my understanding Dave is the host of the Roots jam session where tons of artists come out to perform. I don't have incredibly strong feelings about it, but hosting for an act and being part of an act are different things to me.

i really don't care what its billed as, its just supposed to be a set where you get The Roots being dope as fuck and Dave being funny as fuck. They've done it multiple times, have future tour dates. and meet the criteria of every rule. There really isn't any reason this shouldn't be allowed.
