which leads me to the my issue with the new proposal and having it be an "up to" number. there are rules in place where if you trade away draft picks you don't get to make them up in UDFA, this new proposal kind of negates that.
I totally get what you are saying, but anyone that traded away their draft picks aren't necessarily making them up with the up to number, because there are not going to be THAT many high name picks left for the UDFA portion. It is going to be mostly smaller or tier 4 and lower artists.
you'd be surprised who was left. for instance, grace jones who was a top ten (?) pick this go around was a UDFA,
But doesn't this actually rule out the some kind of 'disadvantage' you get by selecting your UFDA's now already? There are people with 4 free agent slots already taken, which in this game would give them only 26 slots to pick as a free agent anymore. With 75 free agents, I feel like that effect would almost brought to nothing.. idk

i probably wouldn't have drafted too differently, but it definitely would have made it a little easier to take someone like the xx who i didn't necessarily want but knew would take out Jamie. i was also thinking of drafting Lesh and just having him do one set because I didn't want to lose a FA spot.
also, this seems to give the green light to Krisp to have MMJ play 30 sets.

Right. You draft twenty-five and then you can pick up to seventy-five free agents. If you trade away five draft picks you don't get to make eighty free agent selections. You'll end up with a lineup of up to ninety-five. (Likewise, if you pick up five draft picks you still get to pick up seventy-five free agents. You don't lose those free agents.)

I think that if they were already willing to make those picks that wasn't acting as much of a deterrent.

Right but he was already willing to roll with 3 sets from the moment he picked them so I think at some point you might get diminishing returns with the number of MMJ sets on a lineup.
A glass is half full look at this might be that you have the ability to roll out a very diverse lineup while your competitors' lineups might be inbred. Now radiate some damn positivity - this is a Bonnaroo draft!
