All this Alabama love is making me really excited to party with you guys at Roo this year. There is another thread talking about beer pong and I think we should send Team Alabama to teach them how to drink.
Q: How can you distinguish an Alabamian from other southerners" A: Any southerner could drink you under the table but only an Alabamian would drink you under the table and then be kind enough to drive you home afterwards

We're going up early on wednesday from Birmingham. I'm all for a Bama caravan or a Bama-van, if you will. I think all the people from montgomery and south could meet up there and then meet with the rest in Birmingham and/or Huntsville.
we are leaving auburn wednesday. but we have a lot of stops to make along the way. we have to stop in birmingham to drop our dogs off with the parents for the weekend. then we have to stop in huntsville to pick up the RV we are taking.. we usually goto walmart in huntsville because its so close. Trust me when you get there and see the lines, you won't want to spend long in walmart. but wednesday night shouldn't be to bad. i think we are leaving early am from huntsville so we can get close. From what i have experienced its good to get there early with an RV.
^^ we're going to be stocked up before we get to manchester... wal-mart is strictly for gathering purposes - we are probably going to be leaving from madison/huntsville wenesday afternoon-ish towing a pop-up camper if anyone wants to caravan... haven't finalized the plans though....
we will be leaving from the walmart in hampton cove. i don't think we are meeting at the walmart in manchester, once you get close all you want is to get in! we will probably leave huntsville around 3 or 4 am thursday morning.

its better to not leave until like 3-4am from around here.. because anyone getting there Wednesday night gets stuck in BFE usually.. So we leave around 3-4am thursday morning, and i'd be glad to meet up with anyone and caravan. I'm in Florence. :]
we need to have a place where everyone could meet sometime wednesday afternoon, somewhere like Birmingham or hunstville thats on the way. whatcha think?
We're leaving from Birmingham on wednesday night and probably going to the manchester walmart. At the least we could meet up there. We need like a mail list or something to organize this shit.
2 of us will be coming from Montgomery and going VIP. I am not sure we might be leaving Thursday afternoon, but my brother should already be there to get a spot hopefully... we should come up with a meeting place one night for the bama people to hang.... I am getting so excited
ok, so i like the mailing list idea. ill do it no one else wants to. i just found out today ill be going alone im DEFINATELY up for the caravan thing now, 100%.

So where is a good meet up? Maybe Thurs AM, in Huntsville. If you guys from south AL want, yall could meet in Bham, then meet the rest of us in Hville. Any thoughts?

It all depends on where you live. :] The time of depature, all counts on where you live and what traffic you have to face on the way.. and how many pit stops you plan on making.
There's not a set perfect time for everyone to leave.. each person knows how fast they drive, how many stops they'll be making and which route they'll be taking-- so.. it's all conditional.
I usually got 231 up to 50/55 and go in the back way....do you guys head that way from Hsv? Last year we couldn't leave till about 10 am Thurs. and it was almost 6 pm by the time we got in....NOT a good idea! And we were in line on 55 at the overpass by 11.... So...I'd say either get up there Wed night and camp at Walmart then go in as early Thurs as possible....or try to leave from HSVish area by 5-6ish and get there BEFORE everyone else starts queing up.....just my .02...

^^This is the way we usually go. We get together with friends from Cullman and go that way, it's easier, even though then you go in on Bushy Branch (put us in a crappy campsite last year)!

So I think we are gonna leave at like 3or 4pm on Thurs. cause it doesn't take all that long to get there and I think the party doesn't really start till that night anyway. Anybody know about when they will be leaving? and from where?
