With the amount of potential shows in the fall, I've been holding off buying tickets unless I'm 100% committed to something. Feel like it will be a buyer's market with the amount of competition unless someone is doing a severe underplay.

That's what I'm doing as well but it does also feel like a lot of shows are selling out

I don't forsee a buyers market happening for the vast majority of shows, except for artists with multiple dates. At least through the end of this year. Demand could not be higher.

Yaaaay, now my first (non-vaccine pass required) indoor show back isn't at Terminal 5!
EDITED TO ADD: It's kind of strange to me that these tickets aren't moving as fast as Khruangbin. Did I miss a moment when Khruangbin got bigger than St. Vincent?
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 6/8 and maybe 6/9 - Governors Ball 8/17 - King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard @ Forest Hills 9/4 - Pearl Jam @ MSG 9/7 - Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo Center 9/11 - St. Vincent @ Brooklyn Paramount 9/19 - Stars @ Music Hall of Williamsburg 9/20 - Khruangbin @ Forest Hills

This is just anecdotal but that girl Ashe announced 2 shows at Webster Hall which instantly sold out. Now tickets to both nights are essentially face value on SH. I think what we'll see is a lot of people sprung to buy tickets to the first events announced but once the market (particularly NYC) gets overloaded, people will be making decisions and trying to sell off tickets to shows they initially bought in order to attend later shows announced.

Welp....that's another show. St. Vincent at Radio City. Got a second row in the middle first mezzanine so should be a good time. Had a front row ticket for the mezzanine but was all the way to the side and when I looked up some photos to see how the view was I figured I'd rather be one more row back but in the center.

I have to say, I'm really surprised how slowly this is selling. I just refreshed the page out of curiosity, and there are blocks of tickets still available in literally every orchestra section, let alone in the mezz, and we're an hour post-onsale. Is RCMH too big a venue for St. Vincent?

Khruangbin appeals to a much larger demographic, since it's suitable music for dancing and partying.

$99 plus fees for the orchestra seats up front may also be a factor.

Production hold tickets were just released for the Foos tomorrow. I was able to snag a ticket and my buddy got one in the row behind me. Go try!
Ahhh I cant believe I'm gonna be at a concert in 24 hours.
It took a couple hours but the lady friend and I scored two individual seats on the same row one seat apart. That’s about as Ticketmaster as it gets after one year without shows

I'm kind of freaking out about this whole thing tonight. I'm simultaneously thrilled to be going to a show for the first time since March 4, 2020, and freaked out about being in a crowd after a year of living very safely. I know everyone's going to be vaccinated or tested negative, but talk about jumping right into the deep end...

Rock out, J. Sing a verse of “Times Like These” for us, and let us know how the whole “proof of vaccine” process works. See you at both MMJ shows and Sea.Hear.Now!

The moment the house lights went down and all 18,000 people stood up screaming....man, that's up there as one of the greatest concert experiences ever.
Good write up, although small critique in that "These Days" isn't really a deep cut as it was released as a single with a video in 2011
I have slight FOMO from missing The Strokes and Foo's but that's part of my effort to stop obsessively seeing every band I listen to every time they stop into town (also I'm turning 38 in Nov). My complaint about the Foo's is that the setlists have been SO stale since like 2002-03. Cool they played "Aurora" but I've seen them do that a few times, including their spectacular Irving Plaza show in 2007. I really wish they would pull out some choice deep cuts and mix it up each show like Pearl Jam does but I guess the audience that goes to see the Foo Fighters goes for different reasons. That being said, looks like everyone had a great time so happy that the NYC concert scene is starting up. I also suspect they'll be back in the area playing Brooklyn or somewhere else nearby when they come to do Boston Calling next spring.
