Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 6/8 and maybe 6/9 - Governors Ball 8/17 - King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard @ Forest Hills 9/4 - Pearl Jam @ MSG 9/7 - Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo Center 9/11 - St. Vincent @ Brooklyn Paramount 9/19 - Stars @ Music Hall of Williamsburg 9/20 - Khruangbin @ Forest Hills
Had no idea Aurora was that big but she did sell out T5 last night with Shaed opening. On the flipside, I feel like these Sylvan Esso and CHVRCHES shows at T5 are struggling.

TBH, I'm not going to be too mad being at a not-sold-out show at Terminal 5 tonight.
CHVRCHES is surprising, though. I've seen them there twice when it was so packed it was hard to move. Has their profile fallen that much?

Sylvan Esso has done 2x Brooklyn Steel but two nights at T5 is a lot. I'm assuming sales are low since AXS isn't even offering a resale option on their site but will report back after tonight (and agree with you, definitely enjoy T5 NOT being sold out though the fact that they moved the bar on the floor to the sides cleared up a bunch of space in the back).
As for Chvrches....yeah I assume their profile has cooled a bit. They tried to go for a big pop break-through in 2018 but mostly whiffed (I still think that record is good though). There are an endless amount of pop and pop-adjacent groups making nice, pleasant earworm-y music these days so just a ton to choose from and Chvrches probably now fall in the "ugh, I haven't checked out their most recent album but dig the old stuff" crowd.

Terminal 5 seemed pretty full for Sylvan Esso tonight. Maybe not as slammed as I’ve seen it in the past, but it certainly didn’t feel like an undersold show.

Also, Sylvan Esso kicks ass.
Great show last night, 20 song setlist too. Did you enjoy how they made more space in the back as well as the balconies by decreasing the bar space?
New Chvrches album is solid. That last album must have really messed with their brand.
I think that's more of fans being influenced by the narrative than the actual music. Their 2018 album had a bit of a more streamlined/big sound but if fans had enjoyed the previous two, I can't see why they would have had any issue with that one.

I think Miracle sounded enough like Imagine Dragons to piss people off. But I concur otherwise. The Love is Dead livetour was certainly fun.

Eyeballing that King Gizzard show, but I don't know that I'm ready to buy tickets for something literally 11 months away.
Hopefully KG doesn't kill the vibe and go for a seated floor like Bon Iver did. I don't even listen to KG but they seem they like a band that benefits from general admission.

I must be an old soul, because standing in a GA floor for Bon Iver sounds so unappealing to me. It's not danceable music. Standing still like that for 2 hours would kill my legs.

That's true but having a seated floor tends to drive up prices for the second-hand market whereas GA tends to level the playing field. That being said, in terms of vibes, I suppose Bon Iver makes more sense seated (similar to Sigur Ros).
I also think this Bon Iver show is priced a bit too high given that the resale prices are essentially the same as face value.
Just scored GA for King Gizz. Now I’ll just wait for October to roll around.
Did you have a presale code? Also how much are we talking for floor?
smilinggator - $80 after fees, which was unusually slimy for AXS because on the first screen before checkout it said $64.99 and where you hit details to usually see fees "all fees included," then tacked on another at the end.

Yeah I thought I was getting Beach House tickets today for 35 with fees, turns out 2 tix were just over 100 combined

doing it this way is significantly more annoying, either show me everything up front or nickel and dime at every step like it used to be
