Is it just me or does not look too large? I hope it's not impossible for tickets.
Had the same thought, although it's worth noting that that's Arthur Ashe Stadium above, which fits like 25k or something like that. So it's partially just a matter of scale

I'm surprised there was no giveaway for the Dropkick Murphys show at Forest Hills tonight. Even on stubhub there aren't any tickets selling for less than $50.
I really thought this one was gonna struggle real hard to move tickets.
Dropkick plays arenas in the Boston area so I assume with strong support they'd do fine ticket-sales wise. I seem to remember that Dropkick/Rancid show at Coney Island selling out and second hand tickets were pretty expensive.

Ok I'm looking at pictures from the Dropkick Murphys show and the entire bowl looks empty. Which really makes me confused why they didn't do a ticket giveaway like they did for B&S and Robert Plant.
I think I'm just salty cuz I live down the block from the venue now and this was the first show I could've made it to lol. Oh well, one month till Arctic Monkeys!

Anybody hitting bonobo this sunday? A friend of mine saw Hardwell at that venue over the weekend and it looks fucking awesome. Really stoked to try it out.

No but saw him twice last year and it was excellent. Is this a regular set or "DJ" set?

Can confirm that Brooklyn Mirage is very very cool. Wish I was going to that
Yep, just got mine too. Did VIP really sell out or were they not available for pre-sale? Didn't seem worth it either way...
It sold out - it was available when I initially went in around 15 minutes after on sale time. When I got the go ahead from my friend about 2 hours later they were gone
Alt-J at Forest Hills was excellent on Fri. Similar production to their Panorama set but the surround sound really lent itself well to the event.
I've been out of the country since the morning after this show, but I just wanted to chime in with a second on this sentiment. First of all, Kamasi Washington crushed it - I figured I'd enjoy his show, but it was great. And then, Alt-J did a stellar job. My experience was slightly harshed by some of the folks near the front of GA who just would. not. shut. up., but I thought the band sounded really good, and the lights and sound were excellent.
On another note, I think I might have been the ONLY person in the area who went to both Spoon/Grizzly Bear at the Capitol AND Thirty Seconds To Mars at MSG last week.

How was the 30STM show? The day of there were tickets on stubhub for 5 bucks. I was considering going, but the fact that they havent made a song I've enjoyed in 9 years made me think this would be a snooze fest.

I went mainly for the three openers (Walk The Moon, Misterwives, Joywave). 30STM has basically turned into Jared Leto karaoke. I don't mind their recent studio output even if I feel like it's a lot of pandering but they leave such a bad taste in my mouth live. They brought people up on stage and the crowd seemed into it so maybe I'm just being an old curmudgeon.
In other shows that didn't sell well news, Paramore at Barlcays last night (which was great btw) had the entire upper back half of the arena curtained off. Might have been over-ambitious in their booking but I don't know if there would have been a better venue that made sense for this tour except for that awful amphitheater on Coney Island.

Spoon/Grizzly completely slipped my mind. I was looking at my phone the following morning and realized I had missed it. How was it?

I was at the Paramore show last night too! I thought it was a super fun show. Yeah that upper back section was curtained off, but the rest of the place seemed pretty full. Actually surprised it wasn't a sellout though, considering they've played arenas here in the past AND had a huge opener with Foster the People (who I also thought were great). I think they should've done this show at Forest Hills, though.

Spoon killed it. I've always admired Grizzly Bear but they're a bit too cerebral for me to call one of my favorites. Their sound is gorgeous. It was a treat to see them in a venue the size of the Capitol since both might be able to play there on their own, surprised it didn't sell out. Only downside is that the Capitol Theater shows tend to go late, making me miss the 11:12 train back to the city.

I think Paramore usually uses Live Nation, otherwise if they booked through AEG I imagine it would have been at Forest Hills. Enjoyed the set a lot and was still super close on the floor given how much even one crushes up for them. One thing about Barclays is they have to fix the whole GA entry process. The line went fairly fast (about 15 min) but they only have two metal detectors for everyone to go through as opposed to the main entrance. When I saw The 1975 there it took a legit hour to get through that line and I nearly missed Wolf Alice.
