I was at the Paramore show last night too! I thought it was a super fun show. Yeah that upper back section was curtained off, but the rest of the place seemed pretty full. Actually surprised it wasn't a sellout though, considering they've played arenas here in the past AND had a huge opener with Foster the People (who I also thought were great). I think they should've done this show at Forest Hills, though.
I think Paramore usually uses Live Nation, otherwise if they booked through AEG I imagine it would have been at Forest Hills. Enjoyed the set a lot and was still super close on the floor given how much even one crushes up for them. One thing about Barclays is they have to fix the whole GA entry process. The line went fairly fast (about 15 min) but they only have two metal detectors for everyone to go through as opposed to the main entrance. When I saw The 1975 there it took a legit hour to get through that line and I nearly missed Wolf Alice.
Paramore used a non-Live Nation venue in DC for this tour

A music venue that has been in the works for several months is set to open next year in the Kaufman Arts District.
The Arc, the name of the 20,000 square foot concert hall, will open at 36-30 36th St. sometime in early 2019, according to its operators.
The site will hold live concert performances and will also provide space for artists to record audio and video, according to DMDNR, the name of the operating group.
The large space, expanding an entire block, will hold up to 2,000 people, and includes a sound stage, state-of-the-art acoustics, and studios with full sound and video recording capabilities, all within a building with a unique, arched ceiling. Both emerging and established artists are expected to showcase their music at the venue.
The site will also have a 24-hour cafe with foods from over 600 local food vendors. Musicians will also be able to access The Arc all day to rehearse, record music, and collaborate.
In addition, the space will be managed by Rich Pawelczyk, the former executive vice president of Webster Hall in Manhattan. Pawelczyk will be in charge of overseeing concert promotions, brand partnerships, and business development.
“During Rich’s tenure, Webster Hall became one of the leading concert venues of its size in the world,” said John Belitsky, founder and president of DMDNR. “His unparalleled ability to attract the most relevant talent in music—both established artists and emerging talent—couple with our attention to acoustical excellence—will make The Arc a world-class performance hall and incubator for talent, and create unforgettable experiences for fans.”
Pawelczyk said The Arc is poised to “fill a void” in the city’s music scene and in the industry.
“We’re already seeing a flood of initial interest among artists and sponsors,” he said.
The Dutch Kills site used to be a former sushi restaurant, and received Community Board 1 support back in May, according to the Queens Courier. The plans for the site were first revealed in 2017.
DMNDR, according to its website, is a “community of music lovers, photographers, filmmakers, musicians, artists, writers, curators and creators,” where artists use the DMNDR platform to share their work.

Dude I was on GA floor for the 1975 there too and that walk inside was brutal! I wanted to see the first opener too (Japanese House) but didn't make it in until Wolf Alice had already started.

Hmmm, wonder if they'll compete with BK Steel for shows. Astoria is FAR for a lot of people.

An Astoria venue would be so convenient for me. I hate that all these new venues are popping up in Brooklyn. Last night after Paramore it took me almost 90 minutes to get home by subway. And shows at Kings Theatre or BK Steel are even worse.

He is very synthy - kind of reminds me of Flume in a way. Listen to Do It 4 U ft. Dawn Richard, What Is This ft. Rosie Lowe, Hype Up, and Angel Speak - those are some cool ones
I am also going to be there! I haven't been to mirage before and I am hyped

That Bonobo show at BK Mirage last night was so incredible. BK Mirage is my new favorite venue I think. Def gonna check out Green Velvet there in a few weeks.
PS. This one is starting to sound more and more insane
I had never done House of Vans, before, and had no idea how early I would have to get there in order to achieve entry before they reached capacity. I estimated poorly. I got shut out. I spent the rest of the evening punching myself in the face.
Sigh. Thanks for the RSVPs, though. I really appreciate it. It may just be that I'm cursed to never actually see Slowdive.

Just curious, what time did you get there? I'm planning on hitting up the Against Me HOV show next month, and just wanna plan out how early I should get there.

Theres a $25 deal for tix to Beck and Glass Animals at MSG. Guessing its not selling too well.
If I wasnt already seeing Arcade Fire in Philly that night, Id be all over it.
Where'd you see the deal? I'll be out of town, but my wife is a huge Beck fan, so I'd love to pass it along to her.
Looks like it's just on ticketmaster. It's the upper deck seats but they are listing them as a $25 deal (at $17 so I guess with fees it comes to like $25). So not the best seats but shit that's still a good deal for this show. I'm thinking about grabbing one because I'd love to see both acts.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
