Saw that as well. Guess MSG either loosened their stance on the late curfew or acts are more willing to pay the overage fees
Seems like it, lately. Given the run time of his sets elsewhere on the tour, Beck should still be done by midnight or very shortly after, which seems like the new threshold if you want to push things (as I mentioned up-thread, both the Cure and the National finished at that time earlier this year).
I'm most curious about how they're going to get Phoenix playing by 8:55. Either Weyes Blood had her set shortened (she's been playing 45 minutes elsewhere on tour) or the change-over to Phoenix is going to be an absolute blitz.

My best guess is Weyes Blood will go on slightly earlier than 8 and play until 8:30.
There were more people at Phoenix/Beck than I expected. Definitely not sold out, but it didn’t feel underattended.
Beck was fine, but Phoenix fucking crushed it, IMO.
I notice that happens a lot, either a lot of people wait last minute or they issue a lot of comps somewhere we don't know about, lol.
Also last night, Arctic Monkeys killed it, they really are at the top of their game right now. Crowd was great, although some smelled pretty ripe, people need to up their deodorant game when attending outdoor shows under last night's conditions. 😒

I thought Weyes Blood/Phoenix/Beck all killed it. My wife and I had an amazing time. We were also at the Beastie Boys Square unveiling earlier. Got a little emotional. After that we saw Death Valley Girls at Rock Center for Rough Trades mini fest. Super fried today but totally worth it. God I love New York!!!!

Phoenix was definitely the better of the two though Beck was great as always. If this show had happened in 2010, Phoenix would have played last (although they obviously did headline the garden on their own that year).

Gonna be in the city from tomorrow to sunday visiting a buddy. Saturday night we're planning to go to some combination of Basement, Elsewhere and/or Silo but anything going on Friday night, music or otherwise, that doesn't go super late (like past 10-11)? My friend has to be up at 8am Saturday morning
