PSA for anyone attending any shows at Jones Beach for the rest of year (or, potentially, EVER). If you're in the orchestra GA pit or front section, there's a good chance during high tide water will come over the walls. Was at the Pumpkins/Interpol show last night and stood in 3-4 inches of water for the duration of Interpol's set so I recco wearing shoes you don't mind getting wet or boots in some cases.
Probably was the combo of the blue moon and Hurricane Franklin causing that.

What a mess. Cancel the fest already. This is way worse than Burning Man cause you cant control the weather. But you can control logistics and safety at a fest.

Not sure where else to put this, but holy shit is Electric Zoo a mess this year. After having to cancel Friday because they weren’t set up, they now have apparently reached capacity on Sunday as of, like, 6:30, with thousands of pass-holders still waiting in line to get in.

Ha! Beat me to it.
All good. They stormed the gates! This fest better not come back next year.
How the fuck do you reach capacity at a ticketed outdoor festival before everyone with a ticket has been allowed in? Did they just ignore capacity restrictions and oversell it?
I have the same question that you all do. How do you sell a finite amount of tickets and then say capacity has been reached? Additionally, how do you fuck up the specs/timeline for stage building so bad that you have to delay entrance?
The Avant Gardner people are already under scrutiny due to the security woes at the Mirage, you'd think they would have made extra efforts to have it together for the festival. Would not be surprised if it all imploded soon, although I never underestimate the willingness of bros with money to throw even more money at stuff they shouldn't. Wonder if the Mayor is still going to go to bat for them after all this.

Does anyone know the true start time of the Beck/Phoenix w/Weyes Blood show at MSG? Both Ticketmaster and MSG have it starting at 8 but that seems off given their strict curfew and that, according to Setlist.FM, Phoenix has been going on at 7:40. Additionally, the original on sale had a full GA Floor but it looks like they've changed the seating map to only do the 1/3 floor which is strange.

Alright, I'm doing some math based on the other shows on the tour. If everything holds true to form and the start time of the whole night is 8 PM as noted on the MSG web site, that would mean...
I know MSG typically has the earlier curfew, but it's not all that strict - the last two shows I've seen there (The Cure and The National) both overshot it by an hour.
Of course, some of this could shift - maybe they'll reduce the change-over time, or shorten sets given the restrictions of the venue. Guess we'll have to see; I'll just be doing my usual call to goes services day-of to find out.
if anyone was on the fence resale market is very very soft for the RTJ run at T5 next week
Wow some super cheap ones. I may end up looking at these too. I'll be at goose in Boston for the 13th and 14th but may be checking the last shows for RTJ if I'm up to it

MSG guest services at 212-465-6225, usually some time in the mid-afternoon.
Crazy to see their arc the past three times in the city: Kings Theatre to Brooklyn Steel to Bowery Ballroom. The BK Steel show I saw didn't feel underattended - I wonder why they're playing a smaller room this time around.

They're doing a few promo shows in small venues to promote the release of their new album and 20 years celebrating their 2003 album.
