Greatest city in the world and we can’t get a fest like Kilby.
Majority of the 25-40 concert demo has moved out of the city or, if they're here, would rather go to a nicer location to see acts that play the city anyways than stand on Randalls Island or Citi Field parking lot. If you add in traveling to, like, LI or NJ, it's a definite non-starter. That's why Sea Hear Now and Sound On Sound have popped up. They specifically cater to the post-NYC suburbanites who still like love shows but don't want to deal with excessive hassle.

Yeah, I’m 25 but I’m the only one in my friend group who loves stuff like Soulwax and David Byrne. All my friends like the Gov Ball/Coachella lineups. I still feel like a Portola East would do well for the 30 and up crowd in the right weather/venue.

Maybe it's my own bubble, but I know plenty of people who are between 25 - 40 who would show up to Randall's for a one day fest, like that false ad. If it works in LA for Just Like Heaven, why not here?

Yea this isn't accurate my friend group (late 30s). Randalls in Sept/Oct would be absolutely awesome.

I mean....I would LOVE to be proven wrong but if you're banking your festival on that demo and getting 20-30k people to something like a Randalls Island. You have to have an undeniable lineup otherwise it's just not worth the trek to most.

it probably would have to be a one day affair, which doesn't make Randall's worth it. 20K - 30K though for a strong lineup each day (assuming single day passes are available) is not farfetched at all. It's not like it's Staten Island
Hope we get a Gossip show but other than that it’s just a bunch of bands that have played multiple shows here in the last year or will this year.
Oh, no, I might get to see a bunch of bands I like more than once, one time of which would be outdoors in a field on drugs. The horror.
Plus, as some have pointed out in the JLH thread, this might be the last shot at The Postal Service. Are we really going to get a 30 year anniversary tour when both guys are pushing 60?

JLH lineup is fantastic, but i do want to point out that if you live in NYC there is an amtrak train to Albany if you want to see them there. I’m driving from boston since I def cant swing JLH this year lol

Of course they will. The nostalgia train will only get bigger as the years go on.
Bayside/Finch/Armor for Sleep @ Terminal 5 on 5/4.
This tour can fill T5? Feel like these bands are around so consistently everyone who's needed to see them multiple times has.
Bayside did T5 in 2021, but I dont know how well it sold. Armor's last tour had them doing bigger venues than usual and sold well (sold out Wellmont Theater I believe) but they've been touring non stop for 2 years so I can't imagine the demand is there. But Finch, IIRC hadn't toured in like 9 years, returned last year to do 2 nights at Le Poisson Rouge which sold out. They might help move tickets.
Kinda amazed Brookklyn Paramount hasn't unveiled some sort of big opening show/week. It's a new Live Nation venue in market #1.
Still time for them to do that - first week of April is wide open so maybe they have unannounced stuff in the wings (the Marleys and Guster would be the soft open).
11/28 Raveonettes (Copenhagen, Denmark) 12/4 Interpol 12/14 LCD Soundsystem 12/31 Billy Joel 1/25 The Killers (Las Vegas) 2/12 Jack White 2/25 Father John Misty 3/6 Inhaler 4/10 Franz Ferdinand 4/17 Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 5/15 Amyl & the Sniffers 5/18 Fontaines D.C. 9/1 Oasis
Hey if you bowl at brooklyn bowl can you sneak over and watch a concert? I’ve been there for shows before but never bowled. It always seems like people can just walk into the concert area.
