Hey if you bowl at brooklyn bowl can you sneak over and watch a concert? I’ve been there for shows before but never bowled. It always seems like people can just walk into the concert area.
Considering it's $30 per lane per half hour, it's cheaper to see a show

The Show is $50 tonight. That’s why I was thinking of grabbing a lane for $30 and just walking into the concert area.

EDIT: But with renting bowling shoes and everything it’s probably not worth it. Was just wondering because every time I go it doesn’t seem like there’s any rules.

You should check if there are any special lane reservations for the show if something more than the usual price for tribute nights. For the Hold Steady it was $420 to reserve lanes for 8 people for the night but everyone also needed a show ticket. I also doubt they'll let you reserve a lane for one person.

Gotta say I've been loving the cheap Amtrak tickets from Philly. $30RT with a return at 12:20am - saves a ton with no hotel and get to sleep in my own bed. So far planning to do KGLW & Odesza

I've occasionally done the reverse, usually on the rare occasion where an artist is skipping NYC, when snagging a Philly show ticket is less insane than a NYC one, or I have a major date conflict with a NYC show.

when an artist skips Boston and does NYC instead the $60 amtrak roundtrip is a godsend. Sure i have to pay for airbnb but its not bad for someone i’d probably not be able to see otherwise. Probably going to do SAULT and Avalon Emerson whenever her next date at Nowadays is
Love the train talk…I’m a metro north guy. I enjoy the flexibility but if they could just speed it up a bit would be great. The free parking in west haven on the weekend is a plus.

As someone who grew up in Darien/New Canaan, CT, I've noticed when I go back to visit my family the train moves MUCH slower than it did when I was a kid/teenager going on.

Seriously whats the deal with this! When I went to college in Fairfield 15 years ago we would take the metro north into the city and it was a 70 minute ride. Now it's 90 minutes. I also remember when my folks moved to White Plains 10 years ago an express train from Grand Central was 30 minutes. Now I live in WP and the best I can get is a 40 minute ride. The fare's keep going up I wish they'd put this money to whatever track repairs need to be done.

Crumbling infrastructure coupled with the states probably fighting out who has to pay for what just delays all the projects. I heard that Live Nation is opening a new venue in Bridgeport to compete with the College St Music Hall though so maybe between that and the Capitol in Port Chester you'll have to take less trains to the city for shows haha.
Decemberists, Iron & Wine, Bikini Kill, Belle and Sebastian, Liam Gallagher…I guess they’re aiming for the 35 and up Wilco-shirt dad crowd so they dont have to go into the city from Prospect Heights/Park Slope/Sunset Park.

I am not a Wilco Dad but I am in Crown Heights, so the idea of getting to bike to this venue is tres exciting.
Have to think this will negatively impact Kings Theater, right? Although I assume they use that space for a bunch of other things as I rarely see shows announced there.
