Its just wild to me that during the tour cycle for MCR's last album in 2010 they only did 2 nights at Terminal 5, and then the next summer they opened for Blink 182 at Jones Beach (it was billed as "co-headline" but their set was only 60 minutes long and the place wasnt that filled for them). Now 15 years have passed and they havent put out a new album since and somehow are headlining football stadiums.
I'm thinking it's less about nostalgia for millennials and more about the younger generation creating new fandom for them since their generation doesn't have its own angsty rock bands for high schoolers to obsess over.
Don't forget about the show they did at Roseland for RXP w/The Gaslight Anthem on that tour!
Danger Days was a weird time for them and that whole scene in genre. There wasn't any critical discourse about it and, if there was, it was mostly to poke fun at the emo scene. A lot of the fans they got with Three Cheers/Black Parade had grown up a bit and moved onto indie rock so it made sense that they played it safe and toured on a smaller scale. A true sign that the times have changed is that if MCR toured with Death Cab in 2006 the Death Cab fans would thrown a fit. Seems to be nothing but positive responses in 2024.

Jack White at Kings Theatre February 11 and Brooklyn Paramount February 12. I'll try for Paramount first as it's down the block but I would do Kings if necessary.

I had an $87.50 seat in my basket for Kings right away and had 14 mins to check out, but then Brooklyn Paramount's queue opened and I was 106 in that queue so scored for there and released the Kings ticket (looks like the Kings allocation sold out by the time I did that). Worth the extra $4 (accounting for bus/subway fare) not to deal with travel, lol.

My wife didn’t get back to me in time so I missed out on Brooklyn Paramount. Should’ve pulled the trigger. I had two tix in my cart. Oh well.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

Got skunked on Paramount GA Floor- I was all the way through the queue and when my turn came it wouldn’t accept the passcode “NONAMETOURIII”. Maybe because I was on my PC and not the phone where I received the code?
Anyone else have trouble getting that code accepted?

Yeah, I had trouble entering the code for Paramount as well, but persevered and got it all typed in with a lot of effort, I think it was glitchy code on the website. Was no problem at all on the Kings Theatre site.

Amex Presale 12 noon- Got right through for Kings Theater GA Pit! Looking forward to seeing and hearing the new songs live. The NoName album, for me, would slot in nicely as one of the better White Stripes albums.
It was actually pretty sweet!! Seeing her graphics blasted on all of those screens with the strobing effects was wild!! Also weirdly not very crowded, at least where I was standing
looking into going to one of these LCD shows at the knockdown center. any suggestions on where around there to stay?
There really isn't much nearby but anywhere close to an L stop would make it pretty easy to get there. KDC is about a 15 minute walk from the Jefferson stop.
yea, looking at hotels.com and not really seeing anything close enough. ill look around the Jeff stop
Bushwick / Bedstuy hotels aren't the best. I recommend the Box Hotel in Greenpoint or any of the Williamsburg hotels, since they're off the Bedford L. Or Long Island City has a lot of decent hotels and not much farther in terms of public transit. May even be closer for taking a car back after the show.
