That's prime Bushwick. Literally a block off the train. Initial lineup is a little dad rock-heavy but i'm psyched to have another venue there, and my gf works right around the corner
Celebrate Brooklyn dropped their schedule of Propspect Park freebies yesterday. Have to RSVP, and be either vaxxed or have a negative test. Might hit San Fermin, which would beat by a day my long-scheduled Alanis/Garbage JB show as my first concert since the pandemic hit. Trombone Shorty closes out the season, but that conflicts with Sea.Hear.Now. www.bricartsmedia.org/bric-celebrate-brooklyn-festival

Feel like those Band Of Horses shows will be in high demand even if their last 2 albums were pretty dreadful.
Central Park SummerStage free lineup is out as well. Highlights for me are Marc Rebillet w/ DJ Premier (unfortunately on the same day as Vijay Iyer at Prospect Park), Sun Ra Arkestra, Armand Hammer & The Alchemist, Antibalas, and Patti Smith

I’m going to GNR. Might get tickets for Wilco/Sleater-Kinney and I’m waiting for Sylvan Esso to add a Brooklyn show because I hate Terminal 5
That GNR show still has a ton of tickets left. Wonder whether it'll sell out.
I would have gone if Smashing Pumpkins were still opening but it's the day after Hella Mega so...trekking to MetLife after a full night at Citi Field is too much for me.

I really wanted to go to Hella Mega in Atlanta but it's horrifyingly expensive, and on a Tuesday
Last chance to see Dr. Dog ever apparently. They made it clear that they’re not breaking up but just not touring anymore. Playing Pier 17 in September.
Am I the only one who thinks this month MIGHT be a bit too soon for a full scale MSG concert? That being said, I know they are doing Knicks games so I assume this will require proof of vaccination.

I went to the Nets game on Saturday, and the Nets had everyone have their Vaccine Card (Excelsior Pass too, I think), and the event staff matched the card to each attendee's photo ID before entering the game. I felt safe (and it was awesome being back in a packed crowd stadium), but obviously, everyone will be at a different level coming out of a global pandemic.
This festival on the Great Lawn, if they set it up like Global Citizen, will be not worth it unless you spring for some sort of VIP. They typically don't have alcohol sales either so unless you camp out and stake out a spot near the stage, seems like you get stuck WAY in the back. Even being in the VIP section for 2012 an 2015 Global Citizen Festival was a lukewarm time for me but if they stack the lineup, I still might go.

The 2 Eagles concerts in July that MSG announced today require attendees to be fully vaxxed, so it's pretty certain this show will too.
All this has me thinking that RATM could have gone ahead with their tour, but this all has been hard to gauge anyway.

Per the NYT article, the big Great Lawn concert is aiming for eight acts in three hours. Wish they'd give each artist longer set times than that. But I guess we'll see who plays and then go from there.

The RATM tour had Canadian dates too, right? I bet that was the driver for postponing it again.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
