great show last night, really nice to meet ajalfon and his pals, thanks for the tequila! i hope you guys had a good time. yo la tengo was really quite amazing as always, too much talking during their set especially during "our way to fall" but overall a great time. My morning jacket debuted 8 of the new songs and by these alone i'd say this is definately gonna be one of the best albums of the year. there's another thread with this but you can watch vids of the new songs here breakfastontour.com/drupal/new+my+morning+jacket

i have a question for you austin folk...
i'd really like to start getting involved in something around austin. its hard to meet people if you're not in school and your only co-worker is your boss. i know there are THOUSANDS of orgs. around town, but i'm not really sure how to find them all, or even what i'm really hoping to get involved with. anything music-related is awesome, of course, but i'm also big into breast cancer awareness, as well as AIDS awareness.
Leaving from San Antonio. First time driving this year. Flew to Nashville last year. Right now, I have a rental car reservation and my brother and I are definitely going. Hopefully a friend from Austin/Dallas will be going too. I don't know that I can offer any rides yet and can't really afford not to drive either since I am meeting a caravan from NY at the Manchester WalMart. But I am down to caravan. Going to drive through DFW/Little Rock/Nashville. I am thinking of leaving about noon-ish on Wed. so I can make it to the WalMart byy 4 or 5 AM to meet up with my friends before heading in to the grounds.

nshvllbound and jigawig are riding with me, and we're leaving from austin, and going through DFW, and hopefully meeting up with inforoosters from the area to caravan on the same route you're going. if you want to plan a time/place to meet when the date is closer, we can hook up in austin and caravan to meet the dfw peeps together.

so are you from san antonio clkorp...if so, we should go have a drink sometime
In NY right now, be back in SA late-May, but only for the summer. Then its further south. A drink sounds good; we'll have to meet up before we head out . . .

I was planning on going to Ghostland this weekend, but my friend called and we are gonna hit up the free Mess With Texas 2 Festival Saturday. We Probably wont get to Austin until about 4-5, I am hoping that it wont already be packed at Waterloo park, I dont know. Any information on that venue? I will definitely try and catch NOFX again and Simian Mobile Disco along with the breeders and Jenene Garofalo if possible. Will I even be able to get inside is my question.
