I'm from Austin, Tejas(obviously)
just wondering if there are any fellow texans wanting to carpool. right now i'm the only person i know going. i'll make the trip solo if need be, but i'd rather have a buddy or 3.

<---- Coming from Austin. Not sure about room though. I have a camry and there will be 3 for sure (for now) including myself. I might have a spot open..
Its good to see a number of Houstonians who appreciate good music. Its pretty hard to come by, for me at least. I lived there all my life and just recently moved to Austin, best decision I've made yet.
What part of Houston? I lived at I-10 and Gessner. Crappiest part of Houston right now, for traffic at least..

well i have an SUV that seats 5, with plenty of trunk space. i'm totally fine with taking my vehicle, i'd just like to have some people to go with to cut on cost and driving time and whatnot
My friends and I won't mind adding you to our drive. I love the idea of saving some extra money, and of course making new friends before even getting to the farm. I will let you know closer to Roo time, but I'm almost positive no one will care.
Making a drive to Roo and back alone does not sound fun at all, so I will help you out for sure..
I'll be leaving from Houston! I live there in the summer; i'm going to school in austin right now. But anyway, i'm not sure if any of my friends want to come with me this year either! I may need to snag a ride too, if possible, but i'll find out more info as roo gets closer!!
Also, since i see that there are many austin/houstonians on this board, i thought i'd give you a heads up on a concert that's coming up next month. Ghostland Observatory at austin music hall on february 29. they put on one stellar show i'll tell you that! If you like to dance, don't pass this up! Ticket cost includes their new cd after the show! www.gettix.net

heatheroo...i've seen then many times! good stuff
marqus...this will be my second trip. i went in 2006 and it was THE MOST AMAZING experience of my life. which is why i was DEVASTATED when i couldn't go last year. i just told myself this year i'd go regardless of the circumstances. its just worth it.

I'm also coming from Houston, group of 3 (assuming we can find a single VIP ticket for our friend.) I'm surprised there are so many Houstonians on inforoo! A caravan type thing sounds fun, and my group would, I'm sure, be up for something like that. It's the first roo for all 3 of my group.

Haha. I'll be at that show most likely. It'll be my 7th time to see them in 2 years. I'm trying to get a big group together. I love their show, even if it doesn't change too often. I can't wait to hear their new CD. They've had so much practice and know exactly what the crowd wants and doesn't. Did you guys see the show at ACL? It was amazing, but short..

Haha. I know exactly what you mean. I'll tell my friends to go with me, it'll be amazing, blah blah blah. And they'll ask who is performing, I just answer with "it doesn't matter to me" Its all about the experience (even if I haven't experienced it yet)
Oh and I am very very jealous you went to '06. I would have cried like a baby at that Radiohead performance..

radiohead was...well...they were staggering. i've never seen a show like that in my entire life.
funny thing...after that show we went to this tent where they have digital meditation hammocks. we were speaking with a girl standing in line behind us...her name was amber and she was from ohio, and she had on these fairy wings with blue LED lights(i don't know why i remember that). in any case, i remember her saying that she hadn't seen beck OR radiohead and we couldn't believe it. her answer..."i'm just here for the party"

ACL in 2005 was my only experience with music festivals until bonnaroo. having been to ACL 3 years now, and bonnaroo only once, i can safely say that if you haven't been to bonnaroo, you just don't know how great a festival can be

I'm pretty sure the MMJ/YLT show is in Houston. I think it's just a few days in advance of MMJ at SXSW.
