I was thinking about taking the Greyhound from Dallas to Manchester. The trip will add 5 hours each way, but will only end up costing me 90 for the round trip. Plus I won't have to worry about driving and can relax (as much as is possible on a bus). I have the following questions:
1. How far is the bus stop from camping? 2. What are some experiences from other bus riders in the past? 3. How bad is greyhound security, I would like to bring a small number of snacks.
Any other suggestions would be awesome. Thanks for the help in advance!
1. If I remember correctly, it is a couple mile walk. But there will be plenty of others to make the walk with. Or you might get lucky (like I did) and one of the friendly locals might offer you a ride.
2. The time I rode the Greyhound ('06) we didn't get dropped off at the actualy bus station...the exit was closed so the driver just dropped us off at some random gas station, i think it was a little closer. Like I said before there will be plenty others with you ... I think the ride from Nashville to Manchester was nothing but those of us going to 'Roo...they had a bus just for us.
3. Security was pretty much nil when I went - I've heard a couple horror stories but only a couple.

1. How far is the bus stop from camping? I'd say 2-3 miles? I don't really remember. It'll seem longer because its hot and you're carrying stuff. There will be plenty of folks walkin with ya though 2. What are some experiences from other bus riders in the past? I had fun. I met quite a few roovians 3. How bad is greyhound security A dog was walked through the Nashville station while I was there by a canine unit.. my bag wasn't searched at all and the bus driver was friendly and had been to bonnaroo in the past.
