Seeing a lot of people complain about Beyonce campers on the Coachella subreddit. Why doesn't every major festival use Bonnaroo's pit system? It seems like Coachella could really benefit from it. But I've never been to Coachella so I wouldn't really know.
the semi-ironic thing about this is that I saw people today complaining on tumblr that Beyoncé's crowd wasn't hype enough. who will ever be satisfied with kids at coachella?
I just think with Coachella putting a variety of different types of artists before big headliners, a pit system could help.

I should have clarified - my comment wasn't directed at you, but at people arguing over Beyonce's crowd elsewhere online. Agree on the pit system.
my 18 month old nephew coming over to dance and clap to a destiny's child reunion is my proudest aunt moment since he danced and clapped along to a chili's commercial.

Every Bonnaroo artist I've watched sounds great (Tash, CHIC, BROCKHAMPTON). Makes me really excited for this year; should be the best out of all the times I've gone (which is only the last two). Upset I missed CHIC doing I Want Your Love though.

Kinda bummed that Eminem isn't live streaming his set, woulda loved to get an idea of what to expect at Roo. Do we think him not live streaming is a sign that he has a new stage setup/setlist and doesn't want to spoil it for the rest of his festival appearances.....or is it a sign that he's still doing the same exact set since 2014 and is embarrassed.
Post Malone didn’t put on the best performance, but seeing the “Beyhive” insult him and call his performance an “intermission” and constantly cracking on him on Twitter was pretty messed up.
Idk what to think about Beyoncé's performance. I mean it's great, it's powerful and it has a good message for girls and women. But it kinda fell flat after a while with the dancers and that band for me. There's just so much to take in, visually that I lost interest after like 40ish minutes, a few songs after Drunk In Love. First half of her show was one big insult show to Jay. I've no clue how they're still together like that when she sings with that much passion or whatever about him lol.

It'd be funny if they called up A-Trak and was like "remember doing the Late Registration orchestra concert with Kanye...wanna do something like that again?"

Caught the very tail-end of Sir Sly, rewatched Bey, fell asleep to First Aid Kit. (Not a knock on them. That was the plan, and it was a late night). I gotta check out more Sir Sly, and First Aid Kit have a little more of a rock sound than they did in 2014, afair. Both were pretty great, it seemed like from the stream.
And Beyonce was, of course, amazing again. I think that performance was huge for her, Coachella, and possibly the furthered mainstreaming of music festivals in general.
I don't disagree that it was like a Super Bowl performance. The opening had her walking to the stage on a catwalk, away from the audience and towards the camera. There were some interesting camera moves in the show, like when it swooped down the risers toward her at one point. It had the vibe of the Timberlake SB show where it seemed more for the home audience than the live one much of the time. As someone who watched from home, though, I'm not really complaining about any of that.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
It’s a bit funny and ironic seeing a lot of people all over Esteban for being critical of Bey’s set having significant lip syncing and faux instrumentals playing when most people here are critical when DJs and other bands just “press play”. Seems like a double standard. I personally really liked Bey’s set but the fact that much of it was “pre-recorded” is a huge let down, especially for a headliner that has the resources to have everything played “live”.
And personally, this wasn’t a matter of theatrics vs. musicianship as someone previously stated. Nothing that the brass / strings did during that entire set should have precluded them from not “playing. Take a look at Byrne’s set for example; yes it’s a smaller scale but everything was live, and arguably the choreagraphy in his set was much more intricate and extensive than anything Bey’s brass / strings had to do.
