This year's Prowse Farm event has been announced, along with headliners and some of the performers.
Dawes, Amos Lee, Amy Helm, The Wild Reeds, and Mandolin Orange comprise the now small number of non-local acts at the festival, with all of the acts announced to date found here:
The rest of the lineup, including a breakdown by day, will be announced in May (when single day tickets go on sale).
Unlike the defunct Life Is Good fest at the same location, which ran shuttles from a nearby commuter rail stations, this festival isn't particularly friendly to car-free Bostonians, as noted by this info from their site:
"Parking is free and onsite. No shuttles, no hassle."
Why wouldn't I complain? I'm a big Dawes fan who probably won't be able to go, due to the lack of a shuttle from the nearest commuter rail station or a nearby bus line.

I believe you've said you don't have a smart phone or else i'd suggest uber/lyft. But you could try reaching out to other people going who might be able to pick you up from the bus or train station.

I'm looking into a few possibilities, thanks for the suggestion. That's a really nice location for a small festival. I went to one of the days during the last edition of Life Is Good at Prowse Farm and totally enjoyed the vibe and scenery, in addition to the music.
Apart from my own transportation issues, this festival takes place right after the Boston area dorms fill with students. It couldn't hurt to run a shuttle in an effort to sell tickets to area students. If the number of additional tickets they'll sell due to running a shuttle will cover the cost of the shuttle, plus bring in additional revenue, then why not do it? (Of course, those same students use Lyft/Uber, so there's that.)

Yeah I did Life Is Good in 2011 I think. The year the Avetts and Ray LaMontagne headlined and Levon Helm played. Definitely a great spot for these kinds of rootsy fests
Heard back from the FatF social media person on Twitter this morning. They will be running shuttles from the MBTA. The "no shuttles" comment referred to the ability to park immediately adjacent to the grounds. In fact, in reference to a shuttle opening the event up to public transportation riders, they said "Count on it."
On the other hand, this is the same organization which said prior to last year's event and the Festy there in 2016 (which they ran, as well), that they were looking into shuttles and would probably be making those arrangements, but never did. They sound way more definite this time around.
So, it looks like I'll be there for Dawes day, at least.

You might want to check out their limited edition live album from last year, "We're All Gonna Live," available on most streaming services, although it's heavy on their two most recent albums, while I personally prefer their 2nd and 3d albums. IMHO, the playing and arrangements have gotten more interesting over time, but I prefer their earlier songwriting.
They're definitely worth catching. When I last saw them in early 2017, they turned one of my least favorite songs of theirs inside out and sounded like The Band and Little Feat in peak 1970's form.

Honestly a lot of their recorded material sounds kinda bland but they are a fantastic live band and it brings a life to their songs that I can't describe. They're very worth seeing.
My wife and I will be there - first time at this fest for us. Great location for us, and the announced acts so far are up our alley.
Anyone have tips from previous years? I've heard that there are two stages at opposite ends, with no overlap in sets?
Last year was the first FatF. The same organization had done an edition of Festy there in 2016, and it was the site of Life Is Good Festival for its 5-ish year run.
Life Is Good had two opposing stages with no overlapping sets, with a children's music stage. There is a kids music act on the bill both days this year, so there will likely be a separate stage for them.
The rest of the acts and the daily lineups will be announced tomorrow, Mon, May 14.
Given the advertising and promotion to date, I wouldn't expect any acts who would get billing above Dawes and Amos Lee, since they're the top line, but the question is whether the rest of the acts are locals or if more nationally-known touring acts will be added. We'll know soon enough.
There will also be info about (and imminent availability of) one-day passes, too.
