Humble winning a pulitzer is like Obama winning a peace prize.
*it's a big deal though. good for him. i only recognize a handful of the names of previous winners, will be interesting to see if more popular music wins going forward or if this is going to be a one off thing.
As pointed out by numerous people attending Hangout Fest, Kendrick brought a white fan on stage to rap alongside him. It doesn't take that long for Delaney, the fan he brought on stage, to mess up. Performing "M.A.A.D City," she manages to censor herself the first time around, before doubling down and uttering it not just once, but multiple times. "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait," Kendrick says as he interrupts her. Delaney immediately respond, "Am I not cool enough for you? What's up, bro." Kendrick, clearly exasperated by her response, says, "You gotta bleep one single word, though." Acting dumb, she retorts, "Oh, I'm sorry. Did I do it?" Without hesitating, Kendrick responds, "Yeah, you did it." It's a pretty awkward interaction to watch, but Kendrick was surprisingly restrained, allowing her to rap the opening of the song again, but with a little bit of censoring this time. Not so hard, right, Delaney? Funnily enough, though, fans claim he performed "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" afterwards.
I don’t get why musicians bring people from the crowd onto the stage.. or have the audience to sing their music. We came to hear you perform not the peeps around us!
I mean, you could tell from the jump that Delaney wasn't smart enough to censor herself. He invited a young intoxicated festival attendee on stage to sing the lyrics of your song. You want to pretend like the mostly white crowds at your festival gigs aren't loudly singing all the lyrics?
