I live in tempe and missed this festival's first year because I was seeing most of the artists on the lineup elsewhere. Hoping they can produce a strong or unique lineup to get me there!

Phoenix played the Marquee the last time they were in town and didn't even sell it out; they'd be a bit of a stretch as headliners I think.
I could see something like Florence + machine - Arctic monkeys - future - dj snake as a top line.

this is just pathetic if true which sadly it will be. Awesome that the technicolors are on it tho, small band that I discover awhile ago.
My obvious guess is that they had to really cut back on the talent budget this year due to the attendance last year. I believe the attendance was around 15-18k/day when they were expecting closer to 30k/day. The festival was pretty darn nice last year, the stages were spread out with lots of room to dance, walk, and explore. I might still do a day pass on the day Nas is performing if the rest of the day also looks decent. It was quite telling that they dropped their 3-day GA ticket price by about $50 iirc from last year.

I actually am a bit surprised. Given that it's by Superfly, they know full well how music festivals work and should know better than anybody that it takes a few years to build brand equity with the Phoenix residents, making a name with a new festival, and knowing that it takes at least 2-4 years to make profit. Calling it quits just after 1 year (in which things ran quite smoothly and well) is awfully short-sighted imo.

Yeah. There was such a huge dropoff in quality in the lineup from last year to this year. Most of social media was pretty pissed at line up drop. I especially feel bad for the people who had tickets to see Janelle monae show here in PHX, which was cancelled when she was put on the lineup. October in PHX is beautiful weather for a fest; real shame they couldn't get something together worth going to, especially with what they pulled together for grandoozy.
