Which Hollywood Bowl shuttle lot do you guys prefer? Leaning towards LA Zoo but there’s the Ventura Blvd lot as well. Haven’t done it in several years but they increased parking prices dramatically 🙄 Going to Khruangbin tomorrow.

la zoo is the easiest. Plenty of parking, a relatively quick shuttle ride, and more buses running more often compared to shuttle further away.

Ventura lot is really easy since its right up the street. Prices went up cause they turned Lot C into the rideshare lot now and you lost all the stack parking there. And now they put some other shuttle pick ups into the previous rideshare area. Theyre just pushing to get more people to shuttle and its working to some extent. Sunday night was fun. They tripped everyone out during the A La Sala set and then hit the party button for set 2.
(I assume they'll verify you have an Intuit Dome show ticket to prevent people from exploiting it for SoFi or the Forum, though.)
Says its for ticket fans only so yeah, theyll sort it out. Never had a problem parking for free around there anyway. Now I want to see how insane it is if the Forum, Intuit and Sofi have something all the same night.
Since Ballmer also owns the Forum, I could see them expanding this program at some point to include it, especially for the inevitable triple header of events on the same day at Forum/SoFi/Intuit.
Maybe they had to do this type of thing for some green initiative. Hollywood Bowl has it down to a science and nobody else seems to wanna copy their model which is a shame.
I’m at the Intuit Dome. It really is/was a disaster, all because Steve Ballmer insisted on building a custom app that runs as a layer on top of Ticketmaster.
Here are the issues, in no particular order (1) You purchase tickets on Ticketmaster, but you can only view them in the Intuit Dome App (2) The app has an incredibly convoluted and lengthy process to create an account (3) The app tries to pressure you into giving it your facial scan data (more on that later), with a very minuscule opt out at the bottom (4) EACH PERSON MUST have their own app with their own ticket on their own phone. So if you’re going with a friend, you CAN NOT have both tickets on your phone. You MUST transfer one to your friend, who has to download the app, create an account, and accept the transfer. (5) The one exception to one ticket per phone is for minors under 13. In which case their guardian can have their ticket on their phone, and must create a “teammate” profile for their kid. I’m here with my dad and little brother. I couldn’t get the teammate bullshit to work, and I’m very tech savvy. (6) When somebody transfers you a ticket, and you accept the transfer, you are not done. You have to “assign” the ticket to yourself. You would think it would prompt you to do that. Or there would be an “assign” button in the app. No, you have to click the transfer button, which is where you assign yourself the ticket. It does not say this anywhere, I had to fuck around until I figured it out. (7) The app has so many crashes and error messages I can’t even keep track. I have a whole photo album on my phone of various error messages I’ve gotten in the app today. (8) The app was intermittently crashing all day, so doors opened 30 mins after Bruno was supposed to START. They couldn’t scan people in. (9) Once you have accepted a transfer AND assigned yourself the ticket, you’re NOT DONE. You CAN NOT view your barcode until you complete an in app verification process, which doesn’t pop up until GPS shows you’re at the venue, presumably. I say presumably because they turned the in app verification process off a few hours ago probably when they realized the whole thing was crashing. They just let people view their barcodes. (10) If your app isn’t working, they send you to a massive line where some young kids help you troubleshoot (my sister and dad ended up there). But they can’t fix the app’s servers. They essentially just tell you to keep closing and reopening the app until it works. (11) There are these facial scanning orbs everywhere inside the venue. Particularly to get into any of the food/beverage stands. It’s kind of like those Amazon Go markets where you just walk in and walk out. I opted out of facial scanning….so at first they wouldn’t let me in to get food. They eventually acquiesced. But then when I was trying to leave, they didn’t know how to charge me and had to get a manager over to manually process my payment.
I could keep going but I think you get the point. It feels like the movie Her meets Idiocracy. An incompetent dystopian future. Oh, and the food sucks.
Ps it’s 9:20 and Bruno was supposed to go on at 8.

I'm beyond worn out just reading that, can't imagine living it.

And, in typical Clippers organization fashion, defeat was immediately grabbed from the jaws of victory.
At least they didn't anal probe you, right? Or was that a requirement at the merch stands?
Glad I don't have any events lined up there yet.
I wonder how long it will take for them to just change it back to normal TM stuff. Imagine if this was the Olympics? Events would just start regardless cause of tv and everything.

They reverted back to standard Ticketmaster barcodes last night and I heard they are doing so again tonight. But long term they are definitely sticking with the intrusive data harvesting system they built. And as much as I hate to say it, this is probably a trial run for Ticketmaster to roll out this tech more widely in the future. They want to know the actual identity of every person in every seat. It’s valuable data, privacy (and convenience) be damned.

But they shouldnt need to use a separate app to do this. Or is TM just using it as a canary in the coal mine without getting their hands dirty for the moment. I mean there was backlash when Red Rocks tried facial recognition. Msg has the tech cause Dolan is an asshole. Like TM debuting new tech isnt that big of a deal but just dropping it so sloppily isnt their finest hour. Like if this is a new way to figure out how to enforce ticket limits and seeing how resale happens and all that then I dont know what to say. We'll have to see how attaching biometric data that cant be changed ends up changing things i guess.
I am the youngest solo person at Olivia Rodrigo by 20 years. I am practically Homer in his Rasta hat at Hullabalooza.
Oldest? Did you get the ticket release? Dont forget to get those bootlegs after! Theyre prob pretty close to the real deal since she uses black and white pics.
interestingly enough, speaking of jack dolan, idk if this was befote or after he bought boston calling but ik he owns it now and one of the earlier boston callings got a lot of flack for trialing a facial recognition technology without informing ticketholders

Finally made it to a show at Acrisure Arena and thought it was a decent enough venue. Jeff Lynne's ELO sounded fantastic!
Nice to have another booking option for the occasional show that skips San Diego. Much easier drive than getting out to LA. Parking is way too expensive though.

I hope you bought it in advance. It is legit cheaper than buying at the lot. And their pricing does vary by event. I paid $25 for Sarah Mclachlan back in June cause it was half sold out leading up. Paramore was $35 cause it was sold out.

bought in advance and it was under $30 but yeah, $55 if you don't pay in advance.

They understand if youre not local you have no choice but to park. But its still a nice option. Not a bad seat really.
