Where do people stand on the idea of a new NMH album? Not the potential for one, but anticipation/expectation-wise
If I'm them, I wouldn't do it. They've got a cult following and have cemented their place in indie history with Aeroplane. Mangum is a recluse, which adds to their mystique. I feel like if they made a new album, it would be a perfect opportunity for the reality of them as a band to detract from the idea of them as band. They won't top Aeroplane; everything else would be a step down. Why risk hurting their legacy?
That being said, I'd be very, very interested, and would be okay with it if I got to see them perform again. They take me to a special place when they perform live.

If Jeff Mangum has songs, especially songs that he's willing to put out at this point in the game, I 100% want to hear them. But I think the smart move would be to make it a solo release, even if they're basically NMH songs and the band plays them at their shows. Because I agree that another NMH album, even a great one, would definitely diminish the legacy of the band and Aeroplane as an album
EDIT: I only brought this up because I remembered some rumor of them working on stuff or something shortly after the reunion ended
Someone mentioned Volta earlier. I thought they were doing stuff?
Ced just answered some fans question on twitter with something vague about wanting to do it and everyone ran with it. I'm pretty sure he came back and said it's not a thing, just a hope.
The Whitest Boy Alive are one of my greatest wants. I guess that could happen.
Would be up for Hot Hot Heat (I know they had a new album recently, but haven’t toured in years) and Harvey Danger. Also second Sang on that As Tall as Lions’ pick.
I would recommend a Postal Service redo, though the first reunion was so perfect I wouldn’t wanna ruin it.

Daft Punk isn't broken up. They just don't tour.
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez in a 2016 interview, “At some point, we’d love to do [Mars Volta] again too, you know what I mean?” There’s so much to do there as well.”
Then in February of this year Cedric Bixler-Zavala tweeted these:
So I think it won't happen for awhile, summer-2019 at the soonest, but still definitely going to happen someday.
The Walkmen will happen at some point. Maybe not until 2020 or after, but it'll happen.
Hopefully Blur will come out of their (short) hiatus and play some shows in 2019 or shortly thereafter. Even if they only do a handful every couple years, it'll keep the diehards happy. It's all a matter of Damon's mood at any given moment.
At this point I think Blur are just between albums. I'm largely talking out of my ass (because of Damon's aforementioned mercurial mood), but stranger things have happened.

Like the Magic Whip.
Another Blur tour will most likely happen, just probably not in the US. Damon has another Gorillaz album coming and I think he’s happy doing that right now. After that there’s still that GB&tQ album and possibly another solo one. I’d say by 2021 they’ll be more Blur.
I think a Led Zeppelin reunion is much more likely than yall do. I think its 50-50 if not better. Not a full tour most likely. Probably 6 nights around the world, 2 nights at Desert Trip or some West Coast equivalent, 2 nights at Metlife in NYC, and 2 nights at Wembley.

Robert Plant 2 months ago:
"But when you're in your seventies? You have to be really careful about maybe putting a bit more time into playing bingo, and enjoying the time you have left. For me, my time has got to be filled with joy and endeavor and humor and power and absolute self-satisfaction. That's not with Led Zeppelin. That's doing what I'm doing right now, with this band, on this tour."

why do you think that?
Plant is touring his own stuff; JPJ just formed a new band and has been focusing on folk and mandolin music. It seems like all of them are pretty content to let sleeping dogs lie.

hes been saying the same thing since the 80s but they still did do Celebration. My take has always been that if Plant really wanted to completely move on from Zeppelin like he says in all of these interviews, then he wouldnt play Zeppelin songs live. He has essentially closed out every set he has ever done with Zeppelin stuff. Its clear that they couldnt handle a whole tour but I think there will be another Zeppelin show, and probably a couple of them, before Plant and Page die.
Would The Kinks reunion headline Glastonbury or be in the Robert Plant/Chic slot? Would they even be a headliner at Bonnaroo? IMO they would be but that’s because theyre massive to me.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess they don't play any major US fests.
Jazz Fest is probably the best bet. Coachella maybe but probably not. Newport maybe but I'd imagine they're gonna be looking for a lot more money than Newport can offer.

They might headline Glastonbury. Ray Davies' solo set there looked like it was super well attended from the stuff I've seen.

Would the Kinks even be a good fit for Newport?
Good enough where I don't imagine Newport would pass up on booking them if that opportunity arose.
But like I said, money will take that discussion off the table.

The reunion I really want to see is RATM. I think it is going to happen sooner rather than later. Brad, Tim, and Tom already play those songs as Prophets of Rage, so they wouldn’t need to rehearse for a long time. Those guys have said that they would love to get back together as Rage. The only holdup is getting Zack on board. But I do think they will get back together in the next 5 years. Heck, maybe next year?

The run-up to the 2020 election seems the most logical atmosphere for a RATM reunion.
