Who even knows what the world looks like in late June?
Feels like a nightmare.
Sorry for the bad vibes.
I love you.
We fly into Rome on May 24 and making our way through Europe to return from London on July 1. We are waiting to see if we get Glastonbury tickets or not in the resale next month to make any decisions. We will probably have to make changes to our itinerary, but we're staying optimistic. If we can stay optimistic, so can you! Hang in there!

I hadn’t even booked my flight yet (lol) but now I’m putting off for the time being. I’m choosing to remain optimistic at this point, but I don’t think the fear is unwarranted by any stretch of the imagination.
I still think that if they do cancel they'll make that decision before resale/payment due date. Apparently they haven't placed a few purchase orders that are typically placed by now and have been pretty cagey with vendors asking questions. I just think right now everyone is trying to play the wait and see game for as long as possible before having to make a lot of really tough decisions. Glasto is in a good spot that they don't have all their money spent/collected yet so won't have to deal with refunds and shit if they cancel in time They have an out that a lot of festivals (ie Bonnaroo) don't.

Same. And not even in the "I might not get tickets in the resale" way. We've been planning out our honeymoon for months, and it's hard to get excited over any of it anymore when it's such a big question mark if it will even happen. Or if it does happen, what will even be open in 2-3 months? With the rate that places have been shutting, anything could happen between now and peak season.

I booked a flight a week after the october sale. Full commit, the only way to go. If no fest its an extra 5 days of London.
I am also all in on the travel arrangement. From flights to camping fees to airbnbs, I'll lose some serious cash if this thing cancels. The other scenario that I am scared of is if Glastonbury goes ahead but travel restrictions blocks getting there.
Hoping its all just needless worrying and things will get better by May/June.
Can't see skipping the headliners for any of those. I would have liked to have seen Dua Lipa, but no way I would skip Macca for her. PSB is a little harder...purely for the nostalgia factor. Definitely would rather see TSwift but might not ever get the chance to see PSB again Might try to split that one.
As someone who is Glamping, at The Love Fields, Im already trying to check up on legal rights for the cancelation policy of my stay. Just hoping if it does cancel that I can secure my money back without hassle.
ameeps let me know if your father hears anything about Love Fields. They haven't written me back yet, but their T&C on the website (not on the receipt or other paperwork I have received) includes no refunds for a pandemic cancelation reason. Although when I check the Way Back Machine they did not have that on September 1st of last year. So its been added.

I have Worthy View but Im sure thats going to have a refund coming if this doesnt happen. I dont see how any glamping area wouldnt give refunds, very bad for future business, especially if they changed their terms ever so quietly.
The thing for the events ban is that nobody knows how long its for yet. But seems the consensus is 6 - 8 weeks max. Gives a good month for glasto still.
You dont even wanna know what the brits are saying. Somebody has to keep hope alive, why not the americans. I do not want to go to England and come back empty handed. Its already a moonshot to get a fucking ticket let alone for the ultimate 50th year one.
And yeah, the travel ban has been put on england and ireland now but thats not going to be for forever. And theres some overblown stories that the uk is going to quarantine the elderly for 4 months. More becomes clear on monday when the large gatherings ban is laid out.
Someone on efests said some off site camping company who said they’re delaying collecting full payments until Easter. I’m assuming that Glasto is prob expecting that to be their yay or nay decision time. Assuming that the mass gathering bans are actually lifted.
Thats about time when the resale would begin anyway. But it indicates theyre going to wait and see who might pay their balance and who might not, open up even more spots and have their own sales coincide with the resale as others do with offsite camping. Its better that they dont pressure themselves with refunds. But glasto might also do that too. Lots of scenarios to play in your mind right now. Everyones acting as if there isnt time, like its Coachella having a weekend to sort out their postponement and decisions have to be made right at this exact moment when there isnt a clear and concise plan of whats going to happen over there anyway. A lot of it sounds extreme but they might be trying to scare everyone with their worst case contingency plans and then not make it as bad when its officially announced by the NHS and the PM. Leaking that info out on purpose to make the general public realize its going ti get worse right now if there isnt action than just sitting around and waiting. There was a sky news clip asking a health official about the 4 month elderly isolation plan and they deflected that and then when re asked about that and large gatherings they mentioned weeks.
Ok, Boris Johnson did nothing today. Literally nothing.
Mass Gathering Ban will not be put into place.
Emergency staff will not be present at any mass gatherings.
Schools to stay open.
Social distancing is encouraged.
This is supposed to be for 12 weeks.
Uh what? Theyre leaving it to the promoters and venues to take a huge loss and not get government assistance pretty much. He is just sidestepping for now and just thinks its going to fix itself. And I thought it was bad here, Boris takes the lead on stupidest leader for the moment. Glastonbury is in 13 weeks, this is gonna be a shitshow from the look of it. Time will tell whenever they decide to make a move. :/
Not understanding the UK's thought process and/or what they expect the results to be. Even if you think there is some validity to the whole "herd immunity" argument, it seems like they are taking a pretty big gamble that voluntary social distancing will work and their heath care system is going to be able to keep up. Any way you look at it, they definitely seem to be all alone in their strategy.

It is actually shocking that they're not enacting any of these things. With the actions the rest of the world has already taken, I can't believe they'd stay the course of in-action.
Wait til tomorrow when they turn around and follow everyone else. They did it last week and theyll do it again.
It’s going to be too late. They are going to be like Italy in a few weeks unfortunately.
Could be, its just ridiculous that they cannot get it together and just take the precautions other countries have already and follow suit. They want to be the odd one out thinking their method is going to work, when theres data saying it wont. Whats worse is that NHS workers are not even supplied properly. When they end up with staff shortages, I wonder who theyll go crying to help for. And now is not the best time for Brexit, cause theyre essentially on their fucking own, like they wanted to be.
