Texas Gents in Denton for $5 this coming Monday. I’m sure I’m the only one here that will be there. Last time at the same spot they covered Meters and Grateful Dead and a few others. It was a fun time.
Robert Plant and Lucinda Williams just added a second show at the Moody after the first one sold out in under a couple hours. Tix on sale at 7. www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/1734042

Still can't believe I haven't made it to this cool little fest out in Marfa. I think I'm going to make it a priority for next year with a trip out to Big Bend thrown in.

Around 8 hours. I've never been out that way other than passing through El Paso on the way back from California. This would be a fun stop to add to the trip.

Yeah never been to BB. I think it's around the same length trip for me.
I highly recommend Big Bend. Definitely make a stop in Terlingua for a beer. It’s this ghost town made up of hippies, drifters, and millionaires. Alpine is a cool little town too. One of my favorite drives is right there on the border on 170. From there you can take 67 up to Marfa. It’s a different world down there. Just a reminder of how massive our state is and how different its ecosystems are. It’s great.
I'm catching ELO this Monday. Haven't really had the time to get appropriately pumped (mostly because it coincides with the end of Summer break), but it'll be a great show.
Wonder if they're touring with a full orchestra?

It's about a 15 piece band. Same band and setlist as the Wembeley or Bust release. Gonna be incredible!!
Did you go through this page? This venue is weird. They have their own ticketing that makes them totally easy to mix up with imitation scalper sites I would imagine.
There are plenty of $50 nosebleeds even with the stage. If you get in the door just check stubhub for unsold tickets 5 mins before doors and then go down to those since a scalper is eating them.

That show blew my effin' face off. We were the first row behind VIP on the aisle so we were right there and had a ton of dancing space. Unbelievably amazing performance.
We bought tickets for this in like November so that was a ton of hype built up and it completely blew any expectations out of the water.
F'n love Texas. We went to this awesome flea market in Vitor (Vidor?) on the way home and had a blast there with all kindsa wacky folks.

I went and agree, great show. I had seen them before at Glasto with the orchestra, but was mostly surprised how much more full the stripped down version sounded in an arena. Each song filled the space and hit the spot. I also appreciate how it was short and sweet with very little banter. Just one hit after another. Do Ya and Turn to Stone were personal favorites. Glad I went given it was such a short tour. I know they’ll never be around here again. The building was filled to the point where it seems like they’d want to do a second leg though.

Druid- Yea, I was going hard and on the aisle seat so I was in the aisle too. I paid $200 for my ticket, leave me alone, ya know? Everyone was dancing on the floor, it was great. My friends were in the nosebleeds and said everyone sat the entire time. I wouldn't have been able to deal with that. It's f'n ELO, it was time to dance.
Jonesjupiter- He could easily do another leg and have sell outs. I think he will come back through the USA in the Spring. I hope so at least. I saw Houston as my one and only shot at seeing him and wasn't gonna blow it. That Glasto show was great, I've watched that vid a bunch of times. Agreed on the big sound in that venue. Up close it was unreal. Jeff Lynne is a genius.
Alright I’m making this thread more active. Do512 has been very good to me since I moved to Austin. I won tickets to consider the source a few weeks ago and now I just won tickets to see cloud nothings on Saturday. Never seen them and never been to the barracuda so I’m really excited for both
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

if barracuda has the tables outside set up get there early, shit gets so packed if so. not sure how big a draw cloud nothings are.

I’d imagine not that huge a draw since they’re giving away tickets but thanks for the info! Having tables setup for a band like them seems weird though I feel like you’d want the crowd moving around without things in the way but what do I know

ive been there twice, they were up once. it's just like two big park bench/table things but theyre right next to the bar and basically in the center of the venue so there just ended up being this mass of people trying to scoot around the table to get to the bar which was merging with the crowd.
also depends on if its outdoors/indoors. theres an alley in the back you take to get to outdoors if theres another show inside.
