Yeah if it can keep this mid tier bookings I think itd do fine. I feel like C3 has a strangle hold on Zilker and the Shores. I really dont like Carson Creek if they tried to go there again.
The Statesman is going to be redeveloped but maybe they slip it there on year if it is vacated for awhile.

is it worth going to the rodeo for a concert? i'm visiting my sister next month and they just announced lizzo during the time i'll be in town. i saw her at coachella last year, but my sister hasn't seen her since bonnaroo 2016. i want to take her, but not if it's just going to be a mess.

whoops, didn't clarify. i'm visiting during rodeo houston.
The rodeo itself, which I assume is still similar across TX cities, is fun. Lizzo will probably bring a mixed but fun crowd. It may only be like 50 minute set, though.
kacey at the rodeo was great, lizzo will probably be a blast.
you won't be close at all, think football game setup with stage at half field, with the v'est of vip's on the field. but the stage is cool and there are screens, and it revolves so angle doesn't matter so much.
i can't remember the exact schedule off the top of my head but i think music runs 9-10, with the rodeo running to like 830. but if you aren't into the rodeo (i can only tolerate so much of what i consider to border cruelty), the carnival is solid and there's art/baby animals in the arena next to the stadium.
thanks for your help guys. i'm going to try for tickets on thursday and see what happens. my sister, also a vegetarian and animal lover, has already said there are parts of the rodeo we just won't even consider checking out. but i do love a carnival/fair and a general spectacle so maybe there are some things there worth the experience.
