I appreciate the use of a picture of rainwater on asphalt in your post drafting the smell of rainwater on concrete. Is that even rainwater on the asphalt? Is everything a lie?

i guess i don't know the difference between concrete and asphalt? it's like after it's rained and you are walking on concrete or asphalt or whatever and it has that smell. on sidewalks or roads or something.

Is that a standard smell? I feel like different places have a different smell when that happens...Westwego rained on concrete/asphalt smells completely different from the French Quarter and different than when you are in the country on a road and it rained.

it's funny you mention that. the reason i drafted and love that smell is it always gives me a strong sense of nostalgia, reminds me of home. i feel like Mobile has a specific post-rain smell, something with the humidity maybe. I feel like I've smelled a similar smell in New Orleans after the rain, but only garden district/uptownish. FQ always has that pukey smell that overrides anything else.

I have that nostalgia for the jasmine and rain, it reminds me of my childhood home, but you just made my point. That smell is not the same everywhere. I think we need a bizarro poll.

Very surprised Google gave me an image like that. Asphalt tends to smell awful especially in the heat. I can see what you mean with concrete though.

That asphalt side looks like a milder version of the road I tried to toe stop walk on in my brand new skates without my wrist guards before I broke my wrist or that I broke my wrist on... whatever.
with 3 "Hat made out of meat" votes, 3 "No no" votes, 6 "Yes" votes, 3 "The Beatles" votes, and 6 "The Shitty Beatles, from the 1992 film 'Wayne's World'" votes, fresh air is hereby draftable but if you draft it you are actually drafting "The Shitty Beatles, from the 1992 film 'Wayne's World'".
