First timer here. I would normally just ask my buddy who's been going for a few years now (he's also a regular on here), but he's out of town and I don't want to bug him. I do however want to look up flights. From what I have seen on the board this is not the preferred method of travel. I happen to fly for work all the time and get to keep my miles. So a free plane ticket is cheaper than gas and tolls form NY.
That being said, my question is what airport (s) would be closest to the festivities?

Nashville International Airport (BNA)
There will be shuttles ($60 roundtrip) running to the farm on thursday (and i think friday) and from the farm starting monday morning. You check in and exchange your ticket for a bracelet and guide at the baggage claim, go outside and then wait in line for the next shuttle (it'll be obvious). Once it's your turn to get on you'll jam your luggage into the compartments under the bus and hop on board. It will then whisk you off for a less than one hour drive to the farm, bypass the million car line on the highway and drop you off right inside, near tent only/VIP.

Thanks for the info. I'm actually gonna come in on Wednesday and rent wheels. I want to do some fishing in TN while I'm there. Figured before would be a better idea than after the fest.

Got another question. Should I try to fly back on Sunday or wait until Monday. What time does the festival end and how much of a hassle is it to leave? I assume that getting off of the farm takes some time.

If at all possible I would leave on Monday. It sucks to leave when there is still music.....
If you're on the shuttle traffic isn't as much of an issue, but I did see some lines to get on the bus on Monday last year.

Thanks again.
The lines to get out on Sunday night can take a while yes. I think it took me almost an hour to get out of the campground the last Sunday - and I left about 10pm - before the final show had finished.
If you are driving, it is about an hour drive down to Manchester. I live in Nashville and am driving in every day - it's a nice drive

This may seem weird but my sister is coming down with us, but has to be home for graduation on tuesday morning, so driving back isn't a possibility for her. Can she take the shuttle just leaving the fest? Do you have to sign up?

The shuttle tickets are sold round trip only for $60.00.They send you a ticket for each way so I guess you could only use one if thats all you need.
