The "no matter what we do they always find eachother" line kind of reminded me of Eternal Sunshine a bit.. So like that but with actual fantasies instead of dreams?
I started this Saturday afternoon and got halfway through the second episode before having to leave for work. Seems like something I can get behind. I'm loving the kind of dark, kind of absurd humor. Jonah Hill looks so strange, now... also, I love seeing Gabriel Byrne in anything, so that was nice. I'll probably wrap it up over next week, but it seems to be pretty good.

watched the first two episodes last night, i'm in 100%. love the world building, and Jonah Hill is putting up an incredible performances so far. Emma is killing it too but I'm partial to characters like Jonah's that are depressive and can't emote a lot, makes the job of the actor trickier and more subtle.
I also like the darkly humorous tone running through the whole thing. Loved the little video they showed the participants.

Thereoux wasn't a cameo, hes a lead. In the trailer and stuff so I dont think thats a spoiler. His part gets bigger as the season rolls on. Same for Sally Fields who IMO was the MVP of the show. That shit was so weird I loved it.
Halfway through this series and really digging it so far. I love how melancholy it starts out yet still keeping a dark and quirky humor throughout. Will give more thoughts when its all the way finished, but this more quickly asserts Fukunaga as one of my favorites in the biz right now, both TV and Film.

Ugh I'm so behind on so much. This is a priority but I want to pay close attention when watching. This, Bojack, and numerous other streaming shows are way too plentiful and I can't get to them.
I've heard good things but I really got to start this. Hopefully by this weekend.
Outside of the actors everyone mentioned who were all great, the guy who played Dr. Muramoto nailed it. Really helped bring a lot of the vibe in at the begining.
The AIs whole arc was great and didn't feel overly done or too out there.
Actually the sex scene with Theroux was probably the worst thing now that I'm thinking about it, but he was great.
The 'just around the corner' future was also done well, nice little touches here and there.
I thought the ending was fantastic, the tone of the show kind of makes you anxious that someone's gonna die, but them driving away and doing donuts was real fun.
Also it was fun seeing Hill and Stone, im not sure if they've done anything where they've interacted this much since Superbad, but I love that movie so it was cool.
