"Goons like me"? Go F yourself, moron. She sold tickets to shows that people made plans, took off work, traveled to, and then cancelled at the last minute for quacking liposuction. If in your asinine reality she doesn't deserve criticism for that, maybe you need to look in the mirror.
She already had the procedure and performed at least 1 show before cancelling per doctor’s recommendation. It’s not like she cancelled because she’d rather get liposuction.
People should just be honest about why they really don’t like Cardi B instead of harping over small petty things like this.
I have literally NO opinion about Cardi B. None at all, good, bad, indifferent. In fact, I only read the article in the first place because I wondered if she was cancelling ACL, which I have tickets to.
But I have never in my life seen an artist admit to cancelling shows at the last minute for cosmetic surgery procedures. I've seen artists have heart attacks, I've seen them break bones and play from a throne so they don't have to cancel... I've never seen an artist cancel due to cosmetic surgery... and admit it, anyway.
My observation was that this is very 2019. I didn't call her names or talk about her music... which I don't know at all. Maybe you shouldn't assume to know more than you do.

How about it's 2019, women should be able to do whatever they want with their bodies, including receiving and "admitting to" liposuction without being criticized by goons like you?

You're responding to something I didn't accuse you of. An artist who intentionally does something that results in show cancellations warrants criticism. Whether she knew the degree to which her surgery would affect her tour is up for debate and not something I claim to have knowledge of one way or the other. However, cosmetic surgery is not something I believe people should be ashamed of; it's nothing to "admit". That's where you're goonish.
Idk. I understand Tom’s point. He wasn’t hating per se, but some people got mad or struck back because they read it as he was dogging her moreso than making a statement of this is what’s up. I also agree that if you get some shit done, mandatory or routine maintenance- and your doctor says don’t do something, you probably shouldn’t do it. I also have no real opinion on Cardi B. I just hope she gets better. Lipo requires that you wear tight body stocking like material for weeks to months that holds and molds your shape because a bunch of it just got sucked out. And there are painful wounds, stitches, and compression machines as well. It’s not a walk in the park as it were, and recovery is painful. I’ve seen that first hand for someone who had some reconstruction issues. I think if Cardi could go, she would. Let’s dont forget she performed pregnant at Coachella 2018. OTOH she did bitch out at D4N over the cold, but that’s just one example. She says she loves her fans. And I take her for her word on that even if she wasn’t on my schedule. I think she will go if she’s able. Jmo
Never been but wife and I can finally take vacations outside of the summer months so we are thinking. We do Bonnaroo every year and have done Music Midtown once before. What should we expect from this festival? Weekend 2 of course

I never go weekend 2, so that is probably slightly less crowded except sets that maybe people raved about maybe get hit harder.
As for the festival, it’s got a unique feel. Crowds are varied up for any given show, but overall it’s a laid back crowd for a city fest. You will see plenty of families with little kids and high schoolers, but it’s primarily college and up say late 20’s - 30’s and then al the way up through old hippies and shit. There’s very little if any asshole factor. They don’t have enough shade and it can still be upper 90s then so you’ll want lots of sunscreen if you go day and afternoon. There are places you can duck out, but until you have shadows, most of the stages you’ll be in the sun for hours. One thing I don’t like about it is that it’s mostly beer. You can get deep Eddy’s vodka at a couple spots, but when I want a drink, I like to be able to get one conveniently. Food is good, some of it is outstanding. But mostly it’s good. Lodging is expensive but you might be able to find a deal. Otherwise, be prepared to walk or scooter or also they have some shuttle options to downtown. We found the best thing to do was pay to park on Lamar and walk the 3 blocks in. But we didn’t have the scooter app. I’m thinking that could make getting around easier. Stages are mostly a few minutes apart, but it takes a while to walk from near the front of one of the main stages to the front of the other one - probably 15 minutes. Some shows can get super crowded as the day goes on, but you can usually still get up the sides at the biggest stages except where they have bars with mega lines that bleed into the crowd and cut that option off. Personally, I love ACL and I love austin. So I’m a repeat customer and will consider it most years if I have the money.
Heres a tldr on Cardi B after being in the medical for 12 years:
Her MD said stop performing. It is none of our fucking business to know anymore details. Anything from getting a tooth removed to lipo to heart surgery can lead to post operative complications that, if not taken seriously, can lead to death. Cased closed. Let her (Cardi) be.

I think ACL provides a top notch experience in most categories except for the mystical "vibes" category. It feels pretty cookie cutter, with an assortment of fans that go from young to old, hardcore fans to people just Instagramming and so on. Youll have a great time, and the after show programming is always pretty good. Austin, itself, is a great experience. But I don't think anyone leaves ACL with a new worldview or epic awakening or whatever (like Ive heard from such fests Coachella, Roo, E Forest, ect).

Yeah, as a festival experience, ACL doesn't have too much personality. Aside from the music, all you're going to find there is a small art market and the "Austin Kiddie Limits" area for families. But this also has its advantages, the greatest in my opinion being how quick and easy it is to hop from stage to stage. At Lollapalooza, going from one main stage to the other is a 15-minute haul. At ACL, it's 5 minutes.
Crowd is one of the more diverse ones age-wise. You get some drunk assholes, but you get those at every festival. The worst are the chairs and blanket people who, even with designated chair areas and walkways between them, will find a way to block your path and make your life miserable regardless, as one person hogging a blanket that could fit 6 people screams at you for daring to cut across in order to get where you need to go.
As for getting there...yeah, I was a sucker who shuttled in my first couple times going. Park and walk. The daytime shuttle line isn't bad, but at the end of the evening when you need to get to an aftershow or just want to go to bed, you're best walking down the street yourself (there will be thousand of people doing the same thing, so it's perfectly safe).
hope Cardi- Robyn is switched with The Cure for a best case Scenario for me. I would definitely be at all of The Raconteurs into GnR, Billie into The Cure, and Sunday would do Gary into the first half of Tame and go see last half of Gambino.

Despite his poster billing, I'd rather see Thom on a side stage before a headliner. Would be a crowd clusterfuck, but I feel it needs to be dark out for Thom.

Actually, I forgot that stage is history. It would have to be the Tito’s pavilion if it happened at night during a headliner and I don’t think that works. Maybe with a couple of headliners drawing big crowds at the same time, his set could take the place of the silent disco.
I like this one. But I honestly think W2 Robyn will "open" for Billie. ACL doesn't always follow the billing with the schedule and I think we can all agree that Billie will have a bigger crowd than Robyn
No. Not even Paul, Metallica, Radiohead, etc. were unopposed.
Ok cool! Thinking of doing ACL for first time this year
Its usually countered pretty well though, Cure/GnR probably unlikely for example. OutKast/Beck, and then metallica/justice (was originally Trav Scott) are the only two I've been really bummed about since '14.
