A free lodging opportunity came up and now I'm debating doing W2 of this instead of Desert Daze. Can someone give me a real quick idea of the size of the venue, and how hard it is to move around the different stages? I've been to Lollapalooza where the schedule seemed nice in theory but it took like 25 mins to walk from one main stage to another.
very easy to navigate, doesn't take 15 min between furthest stages.
They added Bayonne to the first weekend (available on schedule). They put Men I Trust to the empty slot from The Kooks, and put Bayonne to Men I Trust's previous spot.
There is a decent chance of Austin's first fall "cold front" hitting just in time for W1. Local weather-people have starting mentioning it the last couple of days. If it hits as strong as some models say (it won't), they are talking HIGHS in the upper 70's for all of W1. That would be amazing. I would be perfectly content with highs in the upper 80s and some clouds. We will see as we get closer....
Yup Yup. It wasn't too bad wknd 1 last year but my drinking REALLY made me dehydrated . One of those scenarios have to change...I'm looking at you weather gods
Bad news: Weather forecasters saying the cold front won't extend down to Austin. Our record heat will continue through W1 with the added bonus of humidity. No bueno.
Good news: I got confirmation this morning that Tame Impala will have the halo light rig. Muy bueno.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
I'm kind of indifferent/unfamiliar with them as well, but I just plan to have some Koffee and eat before GoGoing to GoGo Penguin, cuz I'll be pretty non-stop on the move after that.
I need some suggestions for sunday day is pretty full minus the bea miller, shura, Tobi, Koffee time slot. Anyone want to sell me who i should see?
Julia Jacklin > Faye Webster > Idles was my plan for early Sunday. Idles kill it live. Nilufer Yanya should be good too, but I chose Julia in that conflict.
Another question from a rookie. How is the security into the festival. Do they have pretty passive searches or are they more intense? Metal detectors? Best way to get a vape pen in? Any suggestions?

Last year was just wand detectors. I expect every year they pull out the walk-throughs.
It's a your guard may vary situation, like I've found with most festivals. I've seen the ones who barely pat ya down and two lanes over, there is the Nazi literally snaps someone's pole over their knee like Bo Jackson, and then holds up the line by lecturing.
I usually just stand back for a moment and gauge each line and guard.

Hello Inforoo, this is llz reporting live in the areas of Irving, Texas, where Tame Impala performed their first show in two months. First time I have seen them since 2013 A.C.L. - yeah a big gap.
The setlist was interestingly jumbled and re-ordered from their last live show. And yet still no brand new material.
Despite that, it was still killer to hear Kevin Parker's sound live again - and they christened us with the giant rainbow halo from above! Added along with the mind-blowing lasers, this show was trippy to all the senses (weed stank as soon as we walked into the viewing area adds to the experience).
Can't wait for the chance to get even closer to the action on Friday night. Super amped up for the whole weekend, lots to look forward.
Hopefully I will make it across the park in time for November Rain. Sad I will miss Live and Let Die. I'll be walking out as soon as Paradise City hits.
It's one of those songs that I heard way way too many times growing up to where it's grating on the ears, Axl at his most irritating, and I gotta turn it if it comes on the radio. Who knows, the power of the live music moment might make me appreciate it.
