I live in MD right outside DC and work in NW DC; dcbee lives and works in the city... thinking best if something on the Metro line...
I had this idea when I went to see Grace Potter this weekend... I was thinking all the live shows I see, wonder how many Inforoosters are there and I have no clue.
Okay, Langerado is the 6th-9th so I am thinking not until late March at the earliest point...
A few shows I could find that were coming up: 9:30 Club: (not really on Metro but easy to get to) 3/15 - Bob Mould Band 3/20 - Gutter Twins 3/22 - Amp Fiddler & Tortured Soul 3/24 - Morcheeba 3/25 - Presidents of the United States of America 3/28 - Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks 3/29 - Ghostland Observatory 4/2 - BoDeans
ShamrockFest is 3/15 at RFK and dcbee, fortis and I are going. Playing: - Scythian - Street Dogs - The Tossers - Carbon Leaf - Great Big Sea - Bunch more Celtic/Irish groups - Mr. Greengenes and a few more local cover and touring groups - Army of Me - A buncha well-recognized DJs and for the celebreality point - Tommy Lee ;D
Well I will def. be at ShamrockFest so we could start with that and go from there... tix are like $15 I think and there is VIP which is closer to $80 but has more tents, more acts, free beer.
We could have a meet-up spot to hang out... I know my crowd is already about 6-8 deep but expect a dozen or so friends to show up. I didn't go last year - the first year it was at RFK but went the prior year when it was in Old Town Alexandria and we had a blast. Great music, great people... tons of fun until my husband peed behind the porta-potties and long line and got us kicked out...
He'd be so thrilled I shared that story... ya'll will have to ask him about it when you see him ;D
Uh... good point. I always end up taking Green from my neck of the woods and then to get to dcbee in Adams Morgan and then we take a taxi... anyway 9:30 club is fabu to drive to as well as get to. D'oh!
Boo. Of course I only get into the 'Roo and all the cool people at it after I move outta the DC/Metro area (Reston represent!). Might have to turn some of my boys back home onto this site and thread though...
