Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Okay spoke to the husband and he gave me the honest truth:
- We already bought VIP for ShamrockFest - We just spent a crapload on Bonnaroo tix - We went to a show this past weekend that included many libations and a dinner before at Duffy's - We just took our friends to dinner for a present and it was a nice place - My husband isn't working regularly this time of year - We have wedding and shower gifts to purchase in the next couple of months
I'll have o bow out of any show meetups until post-Roo unless ya'll come to ShamrockFest, I come into some dinero
well, I look enough like you so I can just change shirts every so often and let people call me alieblue. And then I'll tell you all about it in minute detail and take lots of pictures so you can feel like you were really there.
We were at a party a few years ago and a friend of hers from high school (who she doesn't hang out with much anymore and hadn't seen me in several years, but still) completely thought I was Alison.
Her husband was in a soccer league at the time and the friend was like "so, do you ever go see Karl play?" and I was like - why would I?
Okay, I have two ideas that are very soon and cheap
1) DC9 this Saturday night - Nouveau Riche dance party I'm already going with some friends who are thinking about going to Bonnaroo but will probably bail like they did last year. We can tease them.
I've only been there a couple times, but the last time was for a different dance party and it was so much fun. Everyone is very friendly and relaxed and just looking to have fun.
Downstairs it's just a narrow little bar with the same type of people who might hang out at Black Cat or Saint Ex - a mix of hipster types and punks, upstairs is the dancing.

Hey would anybody be interested in just doing a happy hour type thing. It might be a little cheaper for those without surplus cashflow (like me and alieblue.) The Globe (the radio station) might put something together (if they do I'll post it here.) There are a fair amount of people on their boards that are going but surprisingly not a ton. So says my sister anyhow. I'll keep checking in here to see what you all are up to. I would love to meet up though.

Alas they have taken away my favorite watering hole Dr. Dremo's and I'm at a loss for where to go. I'll keep thinking but if anyone has a suggestion bring it on! Ugly Mug (Eastern Market), Ri Ra (Arlington), Lucky Bar (Dupont)...
Well Lucky would be fab for me since it's almost across the street form my job , Arlington is a bit far for me. How about Dupont or Adams Morgan - decent trek to a Metro and a good variety of places... ;D
regarding happy hour, how about stoney's in dupont (technically logan circle)? it's right across from the whole foods on p st. beer + super grilled cheese-- it doesn't get much better!
hmmm. good question. i've only been once and didn't venture beyond one of the tables up front next to the bar. i'll try to scope it out within the next week or so and report back
edit - I thought of this because I met Wooz out at DC9 the other weekend and it was so freaking crowded and tiny that we could barely talk to each other
dc9 is a cramped spot. were you guys downstairs or up? as much as i like the vibe, the downstairs bar is awkward. and depending on the event, upstairs can be just as impossible!
stoney's is definitely more like a cozy bar/restaurant; so as long as there aren't 5782928 of us, i think it'd work out nicely.
i'm afraid i won't be going to shamrockfest either. need to save some $, and i'm still trying to fight off this killer ear infection/cold (damn antibiotics! why aren't you working?!?).
