Hello phellow phriends! This will be my first time heading to the roo and i am hella stoked! I will be driving from Toronto and was wondering if veteran rooers from Toronto could let me know how long the drive took them and if they recommend stopping at a hotel for the night or not? Also if anyone is interested in arranging a caravan please let me know! Any suggestions are much appreciated! peace love and happiness

Welcome, I'm from Toronto and headed down to Bonnaroo for my first time last year. We left at like 3-4am on Wedmesday, and got to Nashville around dinner time. Took us about 15 hours, although we did take our time and stopped once for almost 2 hours.
A hotel is up to you, but we got one Wednesday night so we had a good rest before Thursday.
Enjoy Bonnaroo - it's a great time! Have some karma.

I went through Detroit last year - probably the quickest way, although I think Sarnia or Buffalo are pretty close to the same time. Mapquest says to use Det, I checked out an i-touch map the other day and it sent me through Sarnia, and I believe last year when I checked out Buffalo was about 20 minutes longer. I'll probably go though Detroit again this year, but be sure to lock your doors if you do so as well : )
I know you're considering getting a hotel on the way there, but I'd considering it more for the way home. Last year we left Sunday night, got a hotel in Nashville, got an awesome sleep!, then drove the next morning. We still barely made it being so tired (it was just the two of us). I'm guessing if we didn't get a good sleep we wouldn't have made it in one shot.

Thanks man! I really appreciate the advice! How much did you spend for the hotel? I am trying to keep my money in my wallet as much as possible so I would love to find a cheap room. Also, would you at all be interested in arranging a caravan? or are you already in a caravan?

I used Priceline for the way there and back, so we ended up at a good 3 star hotel for like $70 or so..maybe a few bucks more with fees and taxes.
I dunno about Caravanning - you're name kinda scares me : ) jk I usually keep it low key and meet ppl there. Plus I'm staying in VIP, so may lose you anyways. Plus I'm not the easiest to drive with. May want to drive 6 hours straight, then be a lazy ass for 2 hours. Meh, still got time; no plans yet, guess we'll see.

Hey Leafs fan! Buddy! Tell your better half *Giggle* that we finally purchased our Roo tix!! WE are going to stay in Toronto on the tuesday nite now and start out from there. YAH! We finally took the plunge for our roo tix. With that crazy lineup for Roth, we weren't sure but then Dale watched Okonokos lastnight on DVD and the bugga all tanked up went and purchased the tix...... I can't wait! BTW, why aren't you going to Roth this year? You won't even believe it, we got GA tix for Roo this year........ I know we are nute but oh well.... WE kinda had to because of picking up Roth tix too.

No VIP tix for Roo? Ahh that's too bad, but hey at least you got two great festials to attend.
We're thinking of leaving at about 3-4am Wednesday for Roo (same as last year). Roth was gonna be a wait and see, but now that DMB announced their dates we're taking a road trip to Hershey and Bristow to see them (Canada Day Long weekend). Also, gonna hit the DMB show in Darien lake on the way back from Roo!
Too bad you're not going VIP at Roo. I was looking forward to camping beside ya...
Oh Well Leafsfan! We had to make a decision. It was either go VIP to Roo or take in both! We are committed now! Hey lets get together in the coming months for sure for an evening or whatnot! But yeah, its amazing that Dale actually was the one who decided to purchase the roo tix, he was on the fence and last weekend I was partyin at a friends house, he TXT me to say he was watching MMJ and drinking pintes..... and was loose with the Credit card and now we are going to both! YAH!!! I'm just happy that we are doing both. I got France just before Roo too.
We'll be staying in Murfreesboro again if you are interested.
the detroit bridge is under a bunch of construction right now. I don't know what it will be like in June, but keep that in mind when the time comes.
And yeah, instead of caravaning, last year my group just all booked into the same nashville hotel for wednesday night, and we just met up there, also people that wanted to drive through the night met up with us in the morning. Trying to coordinate large groups is just too painful when we live so far away.
Hey do any of you Torontonians have any extra space??? Our van plans fell through and now we're scrambling to find rides, we're looking for 3 spots...can you or somebody you know help us out???
