Buddy if you made it inside I really feel bad fer you. Hopefully you make it out okay.
I saw a photo of the crowd at Rob Zombie last night (the only night I wanted to go) and it looked packed! But yeah hearin’ ‘bout the traffic nightmare made me feel better ‘bout not goin’.
I know Tool was prolly the biggest draw of the weekend, and especially as they are playin’ new material there’s gonna be a lot of pissed off people. Local news had interviews with people from FL and somewhere in the Northeast and they were not happy. From what’s out there right now this sounds like an absolute shit-show that won’t get a chance to correct any problems.
Also I’ve read rumors on The Facebook that a stage (possibly the main) has suffered serious damage or collapsed. I know one of the people in Tool posted a video where their video walls was swingin’ pretty seriously.
Yea, so my phone wouldn't work up there. Getting in wasn't bad. We didn't get there till almost 5 and it only took like 20 min. to get parked. Then when we started walking towards the venue we found that they were evacuating. After 2 hr. we heard they called it off. It wasn't even raining. But I guess there was lightning. Sucks because we all came just to see Tool.

Ok so I went to this fest and seriously did not experience any of the bad things I've been hearing about at all except the weather. We pulled up to get in line to get in on Friday around 2 and were set up at camp by 3:30. Getting in security was pretty tight but no biggie. Walk was like 20 mins from camp to venue. Left the campground around 1am and was out of the grounds and on the road in five minutes. This fest really reminded me of a mix between the state fair and Bonnaroo if that makes any sense lol. Inside the venue, everything seemed well run. Didn't see any super long lines at anything besides the Zippo tent. Although it really sucks that Tool was cancelled, I had a great time for $1. Got to see four of the bands that I missed at Shaky so that made it even more worth it. Was able to get within five rows of the front for pretty much everything at the small stages except Meshuggah.
Top sets of the weekend. Slotrust- Pissed I missed them at Shaky. Best set of the weekend for sure Demob Happy- Also pissed I missed at Shaky. Only complaint was that it was only 30 minutes. Fever 333- Mix of Rage against the Machine and Linkin Park in the best way. Basement- Discovered these guys at Shaky last year and they've been one of my favorites since. Solid set Movements- Reminded me alot of The Story So Far. This stage had a good crowd all day for Boston Manor>Cleopatrick>Movements>Basement>Tom Morello Boston Manor- Really solid energy. Their 1:30 Sunday set really got the crowd going and set the mood for the best day of the fest. Foo Fighters- Really solid and fun set as always, just felt like it dragged on a little in the middle. They played for 2.5 hours though. Meshuggah- Just damn good metal Wage War- Not my type of music but the pit was quacking awesome. Yungblud- Insane stage prescence. Think he may be a future star. Mark Lanegan- His crowd was 100 people max. Pretty sad. I thought the whole band sounded great but obviously a little disinterested. Zeal and Ardor- Cool sound with 3 lead vocals Dirty Nil- Kind of sound like a band that should have been popular in the mid 2000s. Got Weezer vibes Cleopatrick- Liked how they sounded, just was a bit boring and I only caught about 15 mintues of it. Badflower Black Label Society- They played 15 minutes and managed to summon the storm that wrecked this fest. Live- Came on 30 minutes late to their 40 minute set. Played their 3 hits. Black Pistol Fire- Only saw about 10 minutes, but would really like to catch a full set. Def had the Black Keys feel without feeling like a rip off Greta band. 311- Watched them from the screen on the other stage (cool feature I wish more festivals had). Meh Rob Zombie- best part of the set was when he played the trailer for his next movie lol Korn- woof
