I know we’ve been dealing with playing over the holidays but it’s still been extremely quiet in this game with not a lot of substance. Danbob and I routinely bicker about seemingly pointless things in this game, even as townies, so this is giving me a townie vs. townie game with everyone just voting based on personal preference at the moment.

Ok so I don't really have too much of a read between Dan and ZIG themselves. They're about even for me. Both are playing sorta typical. As far as voters, I'm leaning toward voting with the Dan voters as opposed to the ZIG ones.
James, Jaz, and LD are ZIG voters I'm not crazy about voting with. The first two voted initially, kinda popped in last round to apologize for not saying anything and promised to contribute more later on, and still haven't really said anything. Just kinda irks me. You could maybe say similar stuff about Taint, tbf.
LD voted for ZIG cuz he's ZIG, which if yall wanna ban ZIG just so we don't have to go through this every day one, I'm fine with it.
With Dan voters, kanye made the weird move and that's something I'm keeping an eye on, but he's a pretty new player who might not know better (I've done similar moves as Town early in my career) so I'm not going nuclear over it. I had some weird feelings about Thor, but those are pretty mild.
Maddog and Carini are sort of a wash. No real read on either yet.
Not much between these 2. Going by who I would rather vote with. Also gives the bonus of seeing what Pablo and Maddog do.
This has me curious. I have the only two players in the game that have voted exactly once (JRT, Jaz) and a guy that votes for me because I’m his “rival” and other BS (LD). are you that strongly suspicious of Thor or am I missing something?

I did that tally from my phone and realized that my phone keyboard doesn't have a greater than/less than sign option. Sorry about that, if anyone wants to fix go ahead.
The round will conclude at 10am EST unless an extension is requested in the thread. If an extension is requested, it is summarily granted for four hours or until I can check in.
The night will begin immediately once the round is closed, even if I'm not here right at 10am. Whacks will be posted in six hour increments to the best of my ability, but I will be in the air at 545 EST and land around midnight, so bear with me on this one. Things will return to normal once I get back to PA.
Imo I’d start looking into the quieter players day 2.
I agree, something doesn't seem right here. Mafia is probably comfortable with this result, or everyone is just keeping quiet to not draw attention to themselves/get whacked.

An interesting strategy, probe the players who aren't speaking as much on day 2. Cant say we've ever done that in the history of mafia before, I hope it pays dividends.

Could Thor have been dropping hints?
I have to do a re-read when I get home, but from what I remember most of Thor's posts involved him being on vacation. I'm not sure if this was hunting the inspector, perhaps more of doing him a favor or just trying to get rid of a good veteran player.

I believe thor is the only one that's tried the "barking up the wrong tree here, bud" phrasing that can be presumed as inspector talk. Gotta get off mobile to find it.
I dont see a problem with ZIG tossing a vote on JTR pre-runoff and later moving it off him. It’s not like JTR is currently in the runoff, so I don’t see what the big deal is.
I’m also not in the camp of coddling new players. When I was a new player I got my ass handed to me for multiple games before anyone gave me some respect, and it was for good reason: because I was new and sucked at this game.
It feels to me like he is overselling the vacation with filler posts to get the count up. I'm not sure town Thor would worry about something like that

As someone who has played in, I think, multiple games where has been killed off for simply falling out of touch and failing to cast a vote, I’d think you guys would want to know I’m not MIA while on vacation. That is especially so considering how quiet R1R1 was.
Either way, I feel like the votes on ZIG are mostly meaningless (JTR and JAZ was an initial vote, and LD’s reasoning was stupid). Plus I think ZIG is good to keep around if he’s a townie.
With that said, someone has to die and I’m not voting for myself.
lol, that’s not answering my question at all. If you’re going to make statements like that, you should be able to back it up instead of giving a half-ass lazy response of quoting something I wrote AFTER you made your proclamation.
Can I get a deadline on the round? I’m at a resort until Thursday, Thailand time, so I’ll have plenty of time to access the thread, albeit 12 hours in the future. Nonetheless, I’d like to know when the round ends because I can smell the Mafia sharks in the water coming for me.

was the vote that originally threw Thor back into the runoff iirc. Plus the reasoning was sort of strange and Thor defended himself after with pretty sound reasoning(saying he was just trying to show he was still active whilst on vacation). He also explicitly said the barking up the wrong tree thing if that really is a clue that he was inspector. The other two votes on Thor were Pablo and Maddog. So I feel like one of those is probably mafia and wanted to get rid of him since they couldn't get rid of him in the runoff. That leaves pablo and Maddog. Pablo switched to Thor after I switched away from Thor in favor of Dan. That could also cast some suspicion I guess. Carini voting for Maddog either means that carini is mafia with Pablo (them working together would mean they would know Maddog is town, so an easy vote) or that carini thinks Maddog is mafia. Anyway, I think Pablo and carini switching to Thor after I changed my vote from Thor is strange. Also, Pablo switched his vote from carini to Thor funnily enough. So that shows even more possibility of them working together
