I'm not sure that a ton of Cudi fans will camp through Solange to get to Gambino. I don't think Gambino will have too many campers actually. Good thing about Gambino and Tame is that they shouldn't have the issues that The Weeknd/Beyonce did last year. Now Ariana fans.. they will be sitting at the main stage all day long.
FWIW I don't think any of the three headliners will have a steady contingent of campers. Ari, in the middle of a world tour whose tickets went on sale before Coachella, does not have the same cultural/insane draw as Beyonce on her first show back in 2 years. The craziest Ari fans already had tickets to Sweetener Tour before the lineup dropped. Sure some of them will double down but it won't be the same thing. Keep in mind that with Bey also, superfans had access to the pre-sale. That was the only pre-sale we've ever had where a headliner was known in advance, and a massive one at that. So pre-sales (the bulk of attendees) were assuredly infinitely more headliner skewed than they were this year.

It won't be like Beyonce but there will be a substantial number of campers for Ariana I think, for the same reason we ever get headliner campers: a Coachella ticket is way cheaper than it is to get in the very front of the GA floor at one of her standalone shows.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Nobody will ever have the amount of campers at Coachella when compared to Beyonce, but Ariana will absolutely have her fair share
I can’t see Ari having many more campers than Gaga did, which wasn’t bad at all.
I disagree. Not that I think Ariana will have a VASTLY larger crowd necessarily, but I do think she will certainly have more campers. Ariana in 2019 is definitely a hotter commodity than Gaga in 2017. Plus, Gaga being a replacement for Beyonce in 2017 means that way way way less people bought tickets JUST to see Gaga compared to people who bought tickets JUST to see Ariana this year.

Maybe for weekend 2, but weekend 1 was basically sold out by the time people knew Ari was headlining; if her fans want to go, they're hitting up the waitlist or the secondhand market, just like for Gaga. Unlike Gaga, many of those fans had already bought tickets to a show of hers. The x-factor is simply that Ariana's at her peak right now, but I think that just means the crowd will be huge, not that people will camp. My wife is obsessed, ridiculously excited she's headlining, and there's no chance she camps.
Yeah guys I'll repeat a couple things. Beyonce was first show back in about two years and no solo tour to follow, known well in advance even for the pre-sale. Gaga was a one-off production before her tour even started. Most diehard fans for Ari had already bought tickets for Ari's show when she was announced, the tour went on sale about two months before Coachella was announced. If you're the type of Ari fanatic to travel to a camping festival in the middle of the desert just to see her, you already would have bought your Sweetener Tour tickets. Will some double down or try to sell their Sweetener ticket for Coachella? Sure. But I really don't think it's going to be all that drastic. If you live in LA for example, you'd already have tickets for Staples and no need to add on accommodation. Would camping out at Coachella be cheaper than a floor ticket at Staples? Yes, but throw in accommodation, a three hour drive, etc and I think most will just stick with Staples, especially after they've already sunk money into that show.
This is a totally different ballgame from Beyonce where if you wanted to see her solo, and had been wanting to see her solo for the prior two years, your option was Coachella or nothing.
So I totally agree she'll have a huge crowd, but disagree that the camping situation will be any more extreme than a non Beyonce headliner.
Alright, so I moved Blood Orange to the Main (this doesn't feel super spot on, but it doesn't feel HORRIBLY wrong either), H.E.R. to the Outdoor, UMO to the Gobi closers, and Kaytranada to the Mojave closer. Also did a little shifting so that the Gobi starts earlier and doesn't go directly against Ariana to end the night.

Dis Saturday Mikey
Son of a bitch, all of this Ariana talk got me confused lol. Moving over to the Sunday thread.

I don't think this is as true as we think it is. Plenty of people see Ariana on the lineup and make that their reason for going, and plenty of people have been interested but never pulled the trigger, then see Ariana on the lineup and decide that she's what makes it time for them to try it.
Regardless, we're parsing distinctions that aren't all that meaningful - Ariana will have campers a-plenty, it will be nothing like Beyonce whatsoever and shouldn't affect the stage too much.

So what are we gonna do with Truvine's post about Aphex and BASSNECTAR? Assume it's just an educated guess, or insider info? He has an impeccable track record and looking at the above, all it would take would be to swap their set times and no new conflicts would actually be created.

I agree we could just do an outright switch with them two and it would have no other effect on the mock, but I really think Truvine's comment sounded more like speculation than a confirmation. Now if he responds and says that Aphex in the Sahara and Bassnectar on the Outdoor was indeed a confirmation, I'd have zero problem making that switch. But for now, considering Aphex's crazy lighting rig, Outdoor does make the most sense.
You guys are underestimating Ariana's fan base, by a mile. She will have tons of campers. Having Zedd and Khalid on before her only makes it worse. Ariana solo GA tickets are more expensive than Coachella GA passes. There will be hoards of people who wouldn't fetch over the money for a solo Ariana show, that will be ecstatic to be able to see her. I think she will outdraw Gaga for sure. Beyonce is Beyonce though.

I'm not one to agree with kct very often, but I'm with you on this one lol

Not camping this year so probably wont come till Parcels
Parcels > Mac Demarco > Weezer > Four Tet > Ty Segall > Aphex > Tame. Would love to see little simz again but I doubt I'd get there that early. Not a bad day of music.
