As far as cheese goes it's not the worst, but it's very much cheese
This pretty much sums it up. I caught him at a club in Vegas once and my group had a good time, but the counter programming is going to have to be pretty bad for me to make Duke Dumont a priority.
Also, I do hate to say it but I'm going to take a wild guess and say that this message board that gets excited for Thom Yorke, Aphex Twin, and the Chemical Brothers is not exactly the target audience for the acts that get booked at the Sahara tent!
Kinda weird for Coachella to have both Duke Dumont and Tchami, both of whom are sorta past their prime.
I mean this happens a lot with 150 artists a year
To an extent but usually the EDM is a bit more up to date. Feels like their moments have kind of passed already.
Then again, they are supposedly changing things up a bit next year and maybe those two were requested quite a bit in the survey which wouldn't surprise me.

Agreed on Duke Dumont and Tchami bookings feeling a bit “been there, done that.” It’d make more sense to book EDM acts with current buzz like Jax Jones, SVDDEN DEATH, i_o, etc.

Probably nothing but the Talking Heads just added an official Instagram account out of nowhere. Let the speculation begin!
if my googling is correct, Jerry Harrison's team runs the Talking Heads facebook page. I imagine the Instagram is just an extension of that to keep the Talking Heads legacy in the social media conversation. Will also allow them to promote this Turkuaz thing they are doing.
Anyone seen him live? I only know a few songs of his
I saw him like 5 years ago. He was solid, played mostly groovy house idk how much his music has changed since then cause I've stopped paying attention to edm as a whole like a year later so idk..

Did they not?
Who knows for this year. But seems odd to throw the money at people like Tchami and Duke Dumont when modern equivalents are likely cheaper and would likely draw bigger crowds.

Wouldn't be the first time in recent memory though.
We're just a year removed from Coachella booking acts like Deorro and Cash Cash. I'd say Duke Dumont & Tchami are more relevant in 2020 than Deorro and Cash Cash were in 2018.

Didn’t Duke Dumont perform with a full band last time he played? I was a bit bummed to miss that, seemed interesting. I had a blast at his Yuma set in ‘14, saw him again at a fest over New Years last year (and Tchami/Malaa incidentally) and it was very meh. Still, I’d take him any day over the Marshmello’s of the world.

Duke Dumont is most certainly cheese but I've been meaning to catch him for like 6 years and haven't done it yet, so I'm STOKED about this. Imagine Mura Masa into Dumont in the Mojave on Saturday night
