Didn’t Tool just headline those festivals that were literally giving away tickets for free
yeah but those festivals were also replacing the Prodigy with Papa Roach, so idk how much of that was them. They'd also, with little to no sarcasm here, have a new album out. I feel like they'd be a 3, but a day by day Maynard probably doesnt throw a fit.

For the survey, I put Frank, Radiohead, and Beyonce as my 3 Want Headliners, and Raconteurs , Missy Elliot, and Steve lacy as my 3 Want Non headliners.
Here's my earnest attempt to create a realistic lineup which somewhat mirrors 2019. Certainly not my ideal lineup but I'm sure some personal preference bias slipped in there. Let me know what is unrealistic or unlikely here.

On my survey for headliners I put Radiohead, Tame Impala, Roger Waters.
For non headliners I put Little Dragon, Pond, and Frank Ocean (drafters don't @ me)
Is Frank a headliner in 2020 with no new album?? Or a solid #4? If anything his mystique elevates him, but I know tooons of people who barely know him and I'm always surprised.

DMB or the Cure would be cool for our Sunday closer. So just to confirm, Phish didn't pull a big crowd right? Do we think they sold some tickets or was it the rap acts?
Kendrick and Billie/Skrillex headliner combo like Post/Odeza would be alright.
I'd like to have something to pull me back next year. I've missed the past 3 years after going for 3 years running and I miss it pretty bad!

I personally think that they did enough to get the same 65,000-70,000 they have had there the last 2 years and just tacked on another 10,000-15,000 with Phish + JRAD + Metalroo + the 20 other "good" artists. SO while their sets weren't well attended compared to Gambino / Post / Cardi, I think that Gambino / Post / Cardi fans would have been at the festival anyways, whereas a significant portion of the Phish crowd wouldn't have been at the festival if it wasn't for them specifically.

They did a great job with the undercard this year and I'd love to see something like that next year with some solid headliners. I'd be hard to keep me away

I think Tool might have the lowest level of general recognition and permeation among people my age of almost any potential headliner, and I think a lot of that is due to the fact their music isn't up on streaming services.
I'd still be fucking stoked to see them on the Farm obviously, but it'd skew older even compared to Phish this year imo

supppposedly that's changing soon, but, again, little to no sarcasm. i mean, at this point it's just stupid they haven't done it yet, so i tend to believe itll happen in a run up to the new album coming out.

Not enough being said about Okeechobee and the second weekend of Electric Forest dying, leaving tens of thousands of people that went to camping festivals last summer looking for another option. It was also the first time years that Bonnaroo had a significantly better lineup than Firefly.
