Special shoutout to Unchained in 2012, not because of them persay, but because of the timeslot they got. I think people would literally riot if they booked a Van Halen coverband for late night in 2020
Future was so bad it was laughable. Innanet James was pretty bad too, seemed like he just wasn’t ready though so I kinda feel bad, haven’t heard anything about the guy since then either. Did not enjoy that Case Bloom set in 2017 either.

Im still so confused as to how in the hell this happened.

Superjam 2016
honestly other than that i can't recall a straight up "bad" set at bonnaroo. i'm sure there are some i've forgotten.
He showed up fifteen minutes late, was clearly super drunk, and barely was able to even do his own songs. Halfway through his set, most of the crowd had left.
He certainly improved a lot last year though.
wasn't there but this fits how it was described by others.
i remember how mystified we all were by this booking back in 2016. i think he only had two singles out at the time? White Iverson and one other one. i actively disliked him and thought he was a total joke until the first time i heard the opening line of "Rockstar" and i knew he had me.

This is the answer. Not a bad set as a whole but single handed Oy the worst song I’ve seen at Bonnaroo. Worst set have to be walking past Hobo Johnson

I was there, all I remember is chatter about how this had to be a cover for a secret set.

Most people left after realizing it was real.
I remember that being the talk on here leading up to it as well. I can’t remember what else was late night that night. But I know I went nowhere near that show.

Me too, I had discovered inforoo that year, and everyone on here was convinced it was a secret Jack White set, or that Trey was coming out or something.
I watched 2 or 3 songs and just couldn't bear it anymore.
artists from the bottlerock leak it would be cool to see at Roo. i didn't know DJ Z-Trip was still out there, that would be a super duper throwback. i think he performed while panic was setting up in 2003.
Miley Cyrus
Anderson.Paak & The Free Nationals
Janelle Monae

I saw DJ ZTrip play on the Projekt Revolution Tour with Linkin Park in 2002 - my first "Real" concert.

Call me crazy but I don’t feel like the super late time slots should be considered primo time slots
For me it’s a crapshoot whether I make it past 2am. Even at the fresh age of 23 at my first Bonnaroo I didn’t make it longer than half of that Animal Collective set
Book the bullshit after 2am for the drugged out kids I say
And after his show it was a clear decline in Bonnaroo awesomeness.
Billy Joel brought about the Bonnaroo dark ages.
This is it, especially right after Robert Plant burned the place to the ground on Which (and Florence on What). If memory serves, he was called in because the Grateful Dead 50th fell through?

I don't necessarily disagree, but a frickin Van Halen cover band isn't appealing to the spun out kids either.

Eminem 2011 was so disappointing I at least remember it as the worst

yea Billy Joel was terrible, and I am a huge fan of his, seen him about 12 times. I wasn't that impressed with Robert Plant either but I am typically pretty burnt out by Sunday night.

Idk. Especially back then, late nights were looked at as special sets. It was one of the things that ‘set Bonnaroo apart from other fests’.

I remember just staring blankly, in awe of the atrocity taking place in front of my eyes, and at the time partly blamed it on being ~a bit high~. However, after talking to other folks the next day, I realized it really was as bad as it seemed.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Rustie was pretty bad when he played. Other than some lackluster Superjam stuff nothing sticks out as particularly bad. Odesza was pretty boring and Posty disappointed me last year though.
Anyone who attempted to see Innanet James whichever year that was (2017?) know how atrocious that was. My friends and I still joke about that one lol.
I watched some of his videos before going to Roo in 2017 and thought it was a joke. Legit wondering, did you like him before going and the show was disappointing or go the show not knowing what to expect?

I was trapped on the Ferris Wheel and couldn't escape the torture
