I feel like reddit might not understand the premise of the question. Like "they should just get John Mayer to do it". Okay what if they can't get John Mayer.
the most recent post is a suggestion that kevin parker and james murphy do a superjam on the what stage. sounds pretty good.
judging from recent posts, i don't think anyone has listened to Chance's new album in its entirety.
It’s not intended to be listened to in its entirety. You’re supposed to put a few singles on your playlists or pop on the whole thing and run up his streaming figures for an hour and a half while you half listen to it around the house.

your comment, along with looking down the track listing and seeing all the collaborations, also made me think of this article.
The act of collaboration was once treated with more caution. Artists carefully selected one or two guests to appear on their records—or none at all. Features could dilute an artist’s vision and cheapen the work. (They were also expensive.) But, in the streaming age, the simplest way to earn a broader fan base is to work with other artists, gaining exposure to their followers. This approach is particularly widespread in genres whose fans are most likely to stream their music, and so Latin, pop, and hip-hop records are now more like playlists.
If the Bon Iver special guest set had just been billed as a Justin Vernon Super Jam do you think folks would have liked it more?
100%
Also, no matter what stage you put a Kevin Parker superjam on, it doesn't change the fact that he'd be a terrible choice to lead any sort of jam
agreed. people can't let go of the idea that somewhere deep inside kevin parker just wants to jam out. he doesn't, at least not the kevin parker we know now.

reviews are either "i ain't listened to the whole thing yet but i hate it" or "i ain't listened to the whole thing yet but it's pretty good".
I used to stan Chance pretty hard but I've listened to it several times in the hopes that it would grow on me, and it hasn't. It's aggressively mediocre.

Thank you for your graciousness with regards to Tool and Radiohead.
I still think it's highly unlikely that Tool will headline Roo, particularly if Exit 111 happens again next year, but possibly even if not. Not sure Tool works for Roo these days, even if there wasn't a "nothing but(t) rock" festival on the farm.

I think giving one HL spot to a more niche base could be a smart move. Tool - Travis Scott - Tame Impala doesn't seem unreasonable. We'll have to see how Exit 111 sells this year.
That being said, Radiohead is obviously the better booking. Do we have official word on what they're doing next year? I would like to kill these dreams early.

What’s up Roo crew? I have an update for you guys.
First off, I am here to tell you guys I’m sorry for last year’s shenanigans. The honest truth is that I do have a filthy tight source that gets lineup info every year for Bonnaroo, Hangout, Ultra and ACL amongst other festivals. What I said here last year was true, we got 3 ACL headliners (Gambino, The National, Odesza) and 2 of Hangout’s top six (Lumineers, Cardi B)
The Rihanna/Rolling Stones stuff I said here on lineup reveal day was obviously a joke, and I apologize to everyone for giving some false hope at the last minute. When I heard the lineup for myself, I was unimpressed, but that’s because I’m young and Phish - Gambino - Post - Lumineers just wasn’t my style at all, regardless of how good lots of people felt the lineup was.
For anyone that believes I’m a phony, I understand and I respect it. If allowed, this year I will just be dropping in with info I get as it comes to me. I have absolutely nothing to confirm right now. All I know is that Bonnaroo is looking to get a fresh set of headliners after a year in which they had 3 repeat acts headlining.
I’ll drop by here again when I know more. Thanks everyone!!
