What’s up Roo crew? I have an update for you guys.
First off, I am here to tell you guys I’m sorry for last year’s shenanigans. The honest truth is that I do have a filthy tight source that gets lineup info every year for Bonnaroo, Hangout, Ultra and ACL amongst other festivals. What I said here last year was true, we got 3 ACL headliners (Gambino, The National, Odesza) and 2 of Hangout’s top six (Lumineers, Cardi B)
The Rihanna/Rolling Stones stuff I said here on lineup reveal day was obviously a joke, and I apologize to everyone for giving some false hope at the last minute. When I heard the lineup for myself, I was unimpressed, but that’s because I’m young and Phish - Gambino - Post - Lumineers just wasn’t my style at all, regardless of how good lots of people felt the lineup was.
For anyone that believes I’m a phony, I understand and I respect it. If allowed, this year I will just be dropping in with info I get as it comes to me. I have absolutely nothing to confirm right now. All I know is that Bonnaroo is looking to get a fresh set of headliners after a year in which they had 3 repeat acts headlining.
I’ll drop by here again when I know more. Thanks everyone!!

Who was the guy with the Stephen Colbert popcorn gif? hiltons? He was my favorite HL thread troll.
Also, though I think their popularity may have plateaued, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cage the Elephant takes up some prime real estate on next year's lineup. Saw them co-headlining with Beck tonight, and they're a very fun and energetic band who just happen to be playing rather boring songs... could fit in the Lumineers spot? Think they last played in 2017, but they've had new music out since

3/7 ACL headliners and 2 Hangout HLs seems like a really good guess if he’s just full of shit.
Seriously, go read his posts. Since the old thread is locked I can’t post them in here, but anything that’s any more specific than 3/7 is wrong. Over and over. And if you actually read the 3/7 post he’s non committal about that too. He had like 20 posts about specific bands that were or weren’t playing that were all wrong, then one vague Miss Cleo post that he lucked out on.

I see Cage the Elephant in a different type of lineup than this year during the Lumineers spot too.
While also, openly asking why hasn't Beck been plucked for a HL? or even Bjork/Roots-styled pre-HL situation, other than prestige and money? I mean it could totally be those things btw.

Yeah, sorta hard to see where Beck would fit in. My gut says he's a solid four, but he's probably not even got the drawing power of a band like the Lumineers. He would be a good supporting act for an act like PJ (don't see them headlining again, just an example) or if Smashing Pumpkins' reunion tour went over better/well enough to justify them headlining Roo.
