Mixed feelings. You are getting good at this.
I would do this for sure if it had a bottom half like this years, but then again I’d probably go regardless. I think it’s similar to last years in terms of style.
Rap headliner, niche headliner and then wild card (you could put Neil in Mumford’s spot and replace NiN with Tame, 21P or Black Keys or just replace NiN with Tame or Tool). One soft EDM #2 (Odesza > Flume). Need plenty of “vibezy” filler (Edward Sharpe, Vance Joy, Foster, Grouplove, OMAM). A good amount of diversity and women (wanted to put St V in here but felt too stacked). Willie Nelson feels like a logical follow up to John Prine but you could replace him with Jason Isbell and get a smaller old act. Ween, MMJ, Oysterhead feel logical to follow Phish (MMJ is overdue now too) and Cherub and Gramatik would fill the wooktronika spot (you could also throw Pretty Lights in there somewhere). Tenacious D is also the Lonely Island follow up. Last years Sunday also felt more earthy (?) than other days so I made sure it had Mumford, MMJ, Vance Joy and Maggie.
I probably did follow a bit too hard off of last years line up but eh. If I was making my fake now this is what I’d do.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Who do you think should headline Bonnaroo next year?
Tool! I saw them here in New York at a small theater, and I loved them. They were so loud. They’re the most psychedelic band going. The funny thing is, with their odd time signatures and patterns, they sound kinda like Phish.
