To Mississippians I hail from Hattiesburg. this will be my 3rd yr in a row. 2009 got in line @ 10 and was diverted took 7 hrs to get to camp 15 min walk. 2010 stayed in Monteagle night before got in line @ 5-6am waited in line for 1.5 hrs exit 112 got camped in Ferris Bueller 5 min to Centeroo. tips: 1.small gas can could save you or someone else.
2.bring something for shade - must have - just as humid & hot as ole MS
3.small lock & key for tent - sense of security. hide key @ camp
4.gold bond - a chapped ass can ruin a good time **2 newbies last year were struggling after the first day
5.small battery or solar radio - so the music never stops
6.camping spots are random - be prepared to walk and enjoy it **MS has the highest obesity rate in America -
7.Share @ be neighborly - good karma
8. The famous 02 cool camp fan - $25 on amazon worth every penny. one set of batteries lasted entire weekend basically using it the entire time @ camp except @ night ** tell your travel mates cause they'll be stealing yours

I'm in Germantown, TN....leaving from Memphis mid-day Wednesday...going solo if anyone wants a lift.
I went to HS in Manchester, so I know the local 'routes'...and great swimming places, if you can get away.
This will be my fourth....1, 2, 9 (last year) and then this one...I'm expecting a great time, as always (ok, year 2 was a washout, but still fun squishing through the mud.
My suggestion, if you get out early enough, is to take the Natchez Trace Pkwy (speed limit is 50, but straight shot and beautiful drive), to Hwy 64, turn east go to Fayetteville, then left on Hwy 50 through Lynchburg (dry county, although lot of whiskey made there), to Tullahoma, then Hwy 55 to Manchester. Really pretty trip.

I'm coming to too from the coast (Biloxi) and I'm trying to find a way up there since my ride fell through. I was thinking Greyhound but I've heard bad things :/ so if anyone's heading up there from the coast this year don't hesitate to shoot me a message!!
